    Loving staff, genuine care, peaceful

I'm very thankful for the loving, capable staff - Missy and her team treat residents like family and provide excellent, genuine care and food. The home is clean, organized yet flexible, in a beautiful rural setting with hospice available and regular updates for families. I'm truly happy here and would recommend this facility, with only minor areas for improvement.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in these reviews is strongly positive, with repeated emphasis on the quality of care and the staff. Multiple reviewers describe the staff as compassionate, attentive, and family-like; they single out the owner, Missy, as an involved and caring presence. Care quality is a dominant theme: reviewers repeatedly report that residents are treated with genuine concern, capable hands manage residents' needs, and families feel thankful and reassured. Hospice services and continuity of care are mentioned positively, suggesting the facility manages end-of-life needs appropriately and with empathy.

Staff and management are consistently highlighted as the community's major strength. Comments emphasize that staff treat residents like family, that the owner is visible and appreciated, and that communication is good โ€” including the ability to get updates at any time for out-of-state family members. Reviewers describe organized but flexible routines, which indicates a balance between predictable care and personalized attention. The emotional tone in many reviews is warm: phrases such as "feels like home," "loving environment," and "wouldn't have her live anywhere else" recur, suggesting strong resident satisfaction and trust from families.

Facility and setting receive positive marks as well. The house is in a rural, country setting that reviewers call beautiful and cute, and reviewers appreciate large common rooms that facilitate social interaction. Cleanliness is noted more than once, reinforcing an impression of good maintenance and housekeeping. At the same time, several reviews point out specifics about accommodations: private living spaces tend to be small, and some rooms lack private showers (though rooms with bathrooms are also referenced). These details indicate a trade-off between inviting communal spaces and limited in-room amenities for some units.

Dining and social life are touched on positively. Food is mentioned as a plus, and the facility is described as encouraging resident interaction โ€” the combination of large common areas and staff facilitation appears to support an engaged social environment. Reviewers who are satisfied emphasize that the place fosters connection and makes residents happy.

A few consistent concerns appear that prospective families should consider. Several reviewers note small private rooms and the absence of private showers in some units; one reviewer explicitly decided to choose another community, which suggests that the facility may not meet every familyโ€™s preference for larger or more private in-room amenities. Another recurring point is availability: the facility seems to be in demand ("worth the wait"), so there can be a waitlist or delay before placement. Finally, the rural location, while praised for its beauty, may be less convenient for families who prefer closer proximity to urban services or easier travel.

In summary, the reviews paint Greenfield House as a small, well-run, home-like senior living option with outstanding, family-oriented staff and strong management involvement. Its strengths lie in compassionate care, good communication (including for distant family members), cleanliness, communal living spaces, and an inviting country atmosphere. Potential residents and families should weigh these strengths against the trade-offs: smaller private rooms, limited private shower availability in some rooms, possible wait times, and the implications of a rural location. For those prioritizing warm staff relationships, high-quality hands-on care, and a social, home-like environment, the facility receives consistently high praise; for those who require larger private suites or en-suite showers immediately available, it would be important to confirm room types and timelines before committing.

    About Greenfield House

Greenfield House sits about 3.1 miles outside Tomah, Wisconsin, at 54660, with 14 beds in a medium-sized, quiet facility where seniors find both assisted living and memory care services. The staff know how to help folks with Alzheimer's, dementia, and other daily needs, with secure settings, bright rooms with big windows, and private or shared bedrooms, some even with kitchenettes if that's what someone prefers, and there's care for those needing help with bathing, grooming, dressing, medication reminders, eating, and just getting out of bed in the morning, plus for those needing support if they have things like diabetes, high blood pressure, or other common medical conditions. The staff are there all day and night offering supervision, health care, housekeeping, laundry, and transportation, taking folks out to medical visits or errands, and the community gets good marks from families and residents, scoring an average of 9.6 out of 10, which is the highest in Tomah, based on regular reviews.

The home has roomy studio layouts, safety features, and emergency alert systems, and people can relax in shared gardens, walkways, and game rooms, or take in the fresh air or just watch the trees and birds that pass by, and there's a reading room, a beauty shop for haircuts, a jacuzzi and steam room, and even a place for art, movies, music, and pet therapy. Residents have home-cooked meals every day, with all-day dining choices and diets for diabetes, allergies, and other needs, and meals are served in a comfortable dining room where folks gather and talk. Caregivers are trained for every level of help with routines and activities, including keeping up with exercise or meeting the needs of those with mild cognitive issues, and there's support for mobility, toileting, or simply getting ready for the day.

The Greenfield House offers both independent living for active folks and more hands-on care for those who need it, plus respite and hospice services for families during tough times, and people can choose between living alone or sharing a space with a friend or partner if they'd like company. Community spaces invite conversation, and the daily schedule includes social events like movie nights, music, and games, always giving seniors a chance to stay connected, and there's always help nearby for both personal and medical care, including specialized dementia care and diabetes support. Certified by Wisconsin's Department of Social Services under number 9602, Greenfield House provides a calm, safe place for up to 14 seniors who want support, independence, and the feeling of being at home, surrounded by a friendly staff who aim to help people enjoy their days.
