    Friendly staff, clean community, engaged

I'm very happy here - staff are friendly, know me by name, and are extremely responsive. The community is clean and well kept, with a lively dining room, many activities and trips (exercise, bingo, discussions, shopping), plus transportation and monthly housekeeping at no extra charge. I've made friends, cook in my in-unit kitchen, and would recommend this community for independent living with good on-site care.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews describe a facility with many operational strengths alongside notable variability in certain areas. Positive themes include a clean, well‑maintained campus; a range of independent‑living floor plans (including duplexes and villas); accessible dining that many residents enjoy; and a broad suite of activities such as bingo, exercise classes, political discussion groups, weekly tea/social gatherings, and regular trips. Residents and families frequently mention staff who know residents by name and offer personalized assistance, and the community is positioned as economical compared with alternatives. The facility also accommodates pets for visitation and has staff experience in memory‑care services and end‑of‑life support.

Care and staff: Many accounts praise nursing and caregiving staff as friendly, attentive, and helpful, contributing to residents’ smooth adjustment and social integration. At the same time, there is variability in staff conduct and communication tone: some family members perceived staff as less tolerant or more transactional. A few reviewers described serious concerns about how clinical incidents and transfers to higher levels of care were handled; these accounts suggest potential inconsistencies in incident response protocols and in follow‑up communication with families. Prospective families should clarify staffing levels, on‑call clinical procedures, and escalation pathways during tours.

Dining and housekeeping: Dining is generally described as accessible and well liked by residents, with staff assistance available as needed. Monthly housekeeping is included for some units and is noted as thorough (bathrooms and kitchens cleaned). Observations of the dining room social environment were positive, with several reviewers noting that mealtimes facilitate social connections.

Activities and community life: Activity programming is a clear strength for many residents — organized events, bingo, exercise classes, discussion groups, and off‑site shopping trips are regularly available and promote social engagement. However, activity intensity and availability appear uneven for some residents; one reviewer characterized activities as limited. Visitors should request a weekly activity calendar and speak with the activity director about tailoring opportunities to specific interests.

Facilities and services: The property is kept in good condition, with current renovations noted and grounds described as well maintained. Independent‑living units with in‑unit kitchens support residents who wish to remain self‑sufficient. Transportation services for appointments and shopping are available and frequently used.

Management and financial policies: Several practical concerns center on pricing transparency and ancillary fees. Examples include charges for moving assistance and questions about upfront pricing or potential financial/occupancy decisions. Some families perceived an administrative emphasis on financial/occupancy issues and experienced difficulty resolving disputes. These are operational traits worth clarifying: request a detailed fee schedule, contract terms related to eviction/lease termination, and examples of how the community handles billing disputes.

Notable patterns and guidance: The facility demonstrates clear strengths in cleanliness, community programming, and supportive daily care for many residents. At the same time, variability in staff conduct, clinical incident handling, and administrative transparency surfaces across reviews. For prospective residents and families: observe mealtimes, attend an activity, meet both caregiving and administrative staff, review the contract and fee schedule closely, and ask for written policies on incident escalation, family communication, and ancillary charges. Doing so will help determine whether the facility’s operational patterns align with your expectations for clinical responsiveness and administrative transparency.

    About Fairhaven

Fairhaven has lots of options for older folks who want a safe, homelike place with care and help when they need it, and they call some of their areas unique names like Hearthstone for memory care, plus they've got assisted living, independent living, and even adult care homes where residents can get live-in help for daily things like bathing, dressing, and taking medicine, with some rooms even having little kitchenettes for privacy. There are services for people needing short-term rehab, hospice care, skilled nursing, and home health too, and the place welcomes people who've got worries like depression, anxiety, or chronic illness, since there's counseling, support groups, psychiatric checks, and therapy to help folks feel better, with medication also looked after by staff. Fairhaven's known for being friendly, with cheerful staff and a joyful feel, and they won awards for great activities and keeping the community active, which you can see with things like book clubs, field trips, music, and even sports, plus they've got spaces for all this, like an activity hall, a dining area where chefs plan nutritious meals, a lounge, a library, a fitness room, a community center, and even a resident portal if you want to check your info or events. For those who need help around the clock, the staff are there 24/7, ready to assist anyone, with a focus on dignity and doing things the way each resident wants, and they're a faith-based, not-for-profit place so they're committed to comfort and care, making sure everyone stays safe, secure, and well looked after. Folks living at Fairhaven can use the van for outings or to get around, and there's parking for visitors, plus the whole place is wheelchair accessible and offers high-speed internet, which makes it easier for everyone to connect and keep in touch. Veterans and their spouses have extra support since someone helps find and use VA benefits, like Aid and Attendance, to pay for care, and there's a library for quiet time or reading, along with a remodeled second floor for assisted living. Spiritual needs matter here too, so they focus on activities that make people feel connected, healthy, and active, whether it's culturally, spiritually, or just recreationally, and with on-site medical staff always available, residents can count on help when it's needed most. There's everything from independent, maintenance-free apartments for the active 55+ crowd to secure memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or related conditions, and the neighborhood homes give a cozy setting for those who want more care without feeling like they're in a big institution, so overall, Fairhaven covers most of what any senior or family might be looking for in senior living, whether it's help for a while, a place to call home, or just somewhere safe and caring to spend each day.
