    Compassionate caregivers run-down facility logistics

I placed my mom here and the caregivers are outstanding - professional, compassionate, attentive - and the home-like atmosphere, activities, meals and hospice collaboration had her settled and happy quickly. However, the building is run-down and needs deep cleaning (stained carpeting, shared bathrooms), there are staff language barriers, no on-site nurses/therapists or chef, and management expects families to arrange outside medical care and transport. I'd recommend this for loving daily care, but not if you need on-site medical support - expect extra logistics and rising costs.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive with consistent, repeated praise for the quality of caregiving, the warmth of the environment, and the happy adjustment of residents. The dominant theme is that staff are compassionate, patient, and attentive: reviewers repeatedly describe caregivers as professional, considerate, and truly caring. Many family members noted that their loved ones settled in quickly and are well cared for, with staff who communicate effectively with families and who go "above and beyond". Several reviews single out specific staff (e.g., Jay) and the facility’s strong hospice collaboration as evidence of reliable clinical coordination for end-of-life and palliative needs. Multiple reviewers explicitly state they would recommend the home and would even place their own parent there, and some call it the best or top-notch facility.

The physical environment is frequently described in very positive terms: tasteful decor, spacious and elegant rooms, pleasant grounds with palm trees and a garden, and a welcoming, home-like atmosphere. Many reviews emphasize that the home is decorated with care, hosts holiday-themed events, and provides regular activities such as a weekly pianist, contributing to a lively, familial ambiance. Dining is another area with strong positive comments — reviewers mention fresh, healthy meals, dining flexibility (an ability to accommodate special requests), and generally enjoyable food. Across the majority of accounts the facility appears neat, residents are well-groomed, and the atmosphere is described as warm, loving, and dignified.

However, there are notable and potentially important negative points raised by some reviewers that contrast with the otherwise positive consensus. One review paints a markedly different picture of physical upkeep, describing a run-down facility with stained carpeting, the need for deep cleaning, shared bathrooms, and even storage of belongings from deceased residents. That same review lists a lack of on-site clinical personnel — no nurses or therapists and no chef — and claims that medical professionals are only available through hospice or an outside GP, requiring families to transport residents for care. That account also mentions a staff language barrier and alleges management attempts to avoid liability. These items raise concrete concerns about facility maintenance, privacy, infection control, and the scope of clinical services available on-site.

There are also recurring administrative and access patterns to note. Several reviewers mention that openings fill quickly and that there can be a waiting list. A couple of comments indicate rising costs around the time of move-in and one reviewer expressed disappointment about a lack of admissions follow-up. While many families experienced prompt, helpful interactions with staff, these admissions & pricing issues suggest prospective residents should confirm current availability, costs, and communication expectations before committing.

In sum, most reviewers emphasize outstanding daily care, compassionate staff, and a warm, home-like environment with appealing décor, activities, and good meals. These strengths are the facility’s most prominent assets. The principal caveats are specific reports (from at least one review) about physical cleanliness and maintenance, shared bathroom arrangements, limited on-site medical/therapy staffing, and administrative concerns (cost increases, waitlist, inconsistent follow-up). For families whose primary priorities are compassionate, personalized daily care and a comfortable social environment, the facility receives very strong endorsements. For those whose loved ones require frequent on-site medical services, therapists, or a higher level of clinical staffing, it would be prudent to verify current clinical staffing levels, bathroom arrangements, infection-control procedures, and management policies directly with the facility and to request a walkthrough to confirm whether the singular negative reports reflect isolated issues or broader patterns.

About Mameleh and Tateleh's Upscale Senior Living

Mameleh and Tateleh's Upscale Senior Living sits in a quiet, private house and keeps things warm and homey, with room for 10 or fewer people, so everyone gets plenty of personal attention, and the rooms feel more like a real home than a big facility, and even though there are some challenges with staffing and maintenance now and then, the staff focuses a lot on communicating with families and giving each resident care that feels individual, so people can really thrive here. The caregivers know what they're doing, and they help with things like medication, bathing, dressing, getting around, and even incontinence care, staying around 24 hours to keep residents as independent as possible, whether folks just need a little bit of help, more hands-on support, or even heavy care use, and the community works for those with memory problems too, with memory care handled in a purpose-built part of the house, which is locked down and has extra safety things like bracelets with alarms, so people don't wander off and get lost.

The private and semi-private rooms come with wheelchair accessible showers and private bathrooms, so everyone's got comfort and privacy, and the whole place is wheelchair friendly, with wide, open paths and common rooms that let people move freely, whether they're inside watching a show, relaxing with neighbors, or outside in the yard or patio for fresh air and sunshine. Residents get help with daily things, but also get a chance to enjoy meals planned for their needs-there's special attention to diets or restrictions, and the kitchen is known for good-tasting, healthy food, so mealtimes are satisfying. There's a full calendar for everyone, with activities on-site like themed parties, musical events, spiritual services, and lots of time to mix and mingle with neighbors, and folks can go on outings off-site that the staff arranges, with transportation included if needed.

People have access to healthcare from visiting doctors and therapists, plus a nurse and other specialists who stop in, and there's always a caregiver awake at night, so help is there when it's needed, even during tough times or when hospice or short-term stays come into play. Mameleh and Tateleh's takes in people who need help with dementia, Alzheimer's, mobility, or just a little daily support, and tries to keep them living here as their needs grow, so moving out isn't rushed or forced when care increases. There are services for residents who need one-person or two-person transfers, including with a lift if they've got trouble walking, and staff check on people round the clock.

The community feels friendly and welcoming, with bright, cheerful decorations and clean spaces you can see, and the home-like touch helps people feel less alone and more part of a family, which matters when you see how close the residents and staff often get. Sometimes things aren't perfect with repairs or how many staff are around, but the focus stays on doing what's best for every person living in the house, and the staff is good at telling families about changes or concerns. This is a place for seniors who want comfort, a cozy atmosphere, and those small but important things like having your own bathroom, activities just for fun or faith, good food, and care that grows with your needs, all inside a real house that feels safe and full of life.
