Chrisman Community

Chrisman Community sits at 4230 Paradise Drive in Carmichael, California and is a small senior living home licensed for up to six residents, and it welcomes pets if that's important to you, and it's owned by Emilia Ardelean, who opened the home back in October of 2014, and though it's currently closed, it's had a range of services since its opening, like assisted living, memory care, hospice, and respite care in a neighborhood setting. Folks living here would've found simple, fully furnished spaces with wheelchair accessible showers and private bathrooms, and the staff provided 24-hour supervision, help with bathing and dressing, medication management, diabetic care and high-acuity care, and monthly wellness exams by a nurse practitioner helped keep track of health needs, while nurses and specially trained staff worked alongside doctors and care providers to keep everything in good order. Meals got cooked in the home each day with a focus on health-residents had balanced menus, special dietary options when needed for things like diabetes or food allergies, and regular meal times in a formal dining room, and if someone wanted to eat outside mealtimes or had a preference, they'd work with you to adjust the meal plan, so everyone could enjoy their food, and the kitchen even did home-cooked meals with attention to quality ingredients. The home had activities geared to keeping people social, active, and sharp, like movie nights, games, music and animal therapy, walks outside in the garden and on walking paths, and different community events held right at the property, and programs got planned each day for exercise, art, and creative time, while spiritual services and entertainment choices got scheduled too. There was transportation help to doctors and shopping, as well as coordinated moves for new residents, and for safety there were emergency alert systems throughout the building. Residents could count on things like housekeeping, linen services, and cable, phone, and Wi-Fi in their rooms, and many spoke Spanish, French, or Filipino if that was needed. The home's record shows a total of nine visits and a handful of complaints or inspection visits over the years as the state checked compliance, and while no truly special features set Chrisman Community apart from others, it tried to create a homelike space with enough services and support to let older adults feel comfortable, safe, and respected during their stay.
