    Warm staff, spacious apartments, inconsistent

My mom moved in and we're very happy - staff are warm, caring and went out of their way during touring and move-in. The apartments are large, clean, and well-equipped, and the community offers lots of activities, good rehab/therapy, and plenty of social opportunities. Dining is generally strong and convenient (no cooking), but food quality and kitchen staffing can be inconsistent. The building shows its age and needs updates; admission/orientation and billing/follow-through were occasionally confusing. Overall excellent value and a kind, well-run place, though expect some variability in services.

    About Park Summit

Park Summit offers senior living with different care levels, like independent living, assisted living, and memory care, all in the same community, so folks can stay if their care needs change over time, with care costs based on whether someone needs high, medium, or low support, and optional short-term stays for respite or after surgery, and they've got a community fee along with extra fees depending on the care you need. The place has studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, some with balconies and kitchens, with floor plans named Ashwood, Maplewood, Cherrywood, Parkwood, Deerwood, Terracewood, Elmwood, Juniper, and Hibiscus, and every unit feels pretty comfortable for day-to-day living.

Meals are served daily, with a MyChoice dining program, and options for one, two, or three meals per day, with restaurant-style dining and a private dining room, plus complimentary breakfast, which comes in handy, and meals are usually nutritious and made with decent ingredients, while snacks are sometimes offered at social events like happy hour or movie nights. People living at Park Summit can get help with daily needs like bathing, dressing, or taking medicine, and those who need incontinence care or special diabetic care, even insulin injections, can get those services too, and memory care's available for folks with Alzheimer's or other dementias, including systems to help prevent wandering and reduce confusion.

The grounds have a welcoming entrance with balconies, lots of lush plants, fountains, and even an American flag on display, and spaces like a courtyard fountain, outdoor pond, and a gazebo, while inside you've got a pleasant lobby with warm lighting and seating, and a nice dining room with polished tables, a grand staircase, and wood-carved artwork on the walls, plus shared areas like a library, computer stations, and a card room help people socialize and relax together, because the layout encourages building friendships for those who want company without feeling crowded if they like time alone. The facility has multiple swimming pools, including outdoor, indoor, and heated pools-there's even a hot tub-so if you like water or swimming, you've got choices, and a fitness center with exercise classes plus community gardens if you enjoy working with plants, a dog park for those with pets, and programs focused on wellness and staying busy.

Transportation's covered by resident parking and free rides for appointments and group trips, plus the building's near shopping centers, parks, and public bus lines for convenience, so getting around or bringing in visitors isn't hard. Park Summit allows pets and runs pet therapy programs, so residents don't have to leave animal companions behind, and the place offers programs and events like Light Up The Night, cards, poker, darts, crochet, happy hours, and movie nights, along with devotional services, including Shabbat for Jewish residents and trips to churches or synagogues when needed, using their covered parking or transportation if requested. There's an emphasis on community engagement, with clubs, volunteer opportunities, orientation for new residents, and even a member directory with deals for active participants, and folks interested in women's empowerment and community events will find groups and support available.

When it comes to medical care, nurses are on staff, a doctor's on call, and visiting dentists, podiatrists, and therapists come regularly, while FOX Rehabilitation partnerships bring physical, occupational, and speech therapy onsite, and homecare services help with daily living, especially for residents with higher needs or non-ambulatory care, including help with transfers from bed to wheelchair if needed. Security's a priority, with 24-hour awake staff for emergencies and a gated community setup, plus secure indoor and outdoor common areas, so families feel confident about safety, and there's support for memory and dementia care. Housekeeping, cable, internet, satellite TV, in-house doctor visits, and concierge service are all available, helping keep life pretty straightforward.

People can join social events and group outings, use the beauty salon/barbershop, attend services in the chapel, or enjoy events in rooms like the Cottages Clubhouse or the activity studio. The facility's run by Five Star Senior Living, and prices start at $2,900 for independent living or $4,150 for assisted living, with extra fees based on what you need, so it helps to ask about exact rates, but the care options go from more independent to full support, with memory care, hospice, and homecare on offer, so seniors can age in place without big moves as needs change. The setting tries to feel a bit like a hotel with comfy chairs, nice landscaping, a relaxed pace, and lots of options to keep busy, enjoy meals with others, or just wander outside for fresh air by the lake, pond, or gardens.
