    Compassionate small community, highly recommended

I placed my parent in this small, 10-resident community and I'm very pleased. The staff are outstanding-welcoming, patient, compassionate nurses and engaged management who communicate well and are available around the clock. The home-like, clean environment offers assisted, independent, and memory care with active entertainment and happy residents. I feel confident and comfortable recommending this place.

    About Cottages at Mill Creek

Cottages at Mill Creek sits in a calm, wooded area in Mill Creek, WA, where four cottage-style homes give a quieter, neighborhood feel, and each one's got open, inviting living spaces with fire features, warm dining areas, and patios or outdoor spaces behind every cottage where people can stroll, sit, or garden; you'll find secure and fenced areas, too, so everyone stays safe, especially folks dealing with Alzheimer's or dementia, since there's a secure design for each home, alarms on doors and windows, and exits that lead to a locked interior courtyard. The community's small enough for staff to give residents close, individual attention and big enough to offer 40 units, with most being private rooms and a few shared ones, and every unit comes with hardwood floors, its own or a shared bathroom, and climate control that can be adjusted without calling for help. Residents can enjoy reading rooms, hair salon visits from a mobile hairdresser, a spa and steam wellness space, community events at night, TV rooms, and indoor walking areas, so there's plenty to do even in bad weather, and there are outings for fresh air when things are nice. When it comes to care, you'll always find trained staff and nurses on-site or on call, monitoring residents around the clock and helping with medication, meals, bathing, dressing, and hygiene, whether that's a quick assist or full support inside or outside the bath, and the "home doctor" comes weekly if anyone can't travel out. Staff help with medical appointments, shopping trips, and faith-based gatherings, and people can request meals in their rooms, feeding help, pureed food, or meals tailored to diets for diabetes or high blood pressure, along with special restaurant-style dining programs, including vegetarian, vegan, low-salt, or international food. There are daily planned activities-music therapy, craft making, animal visits, exercise sessions, movie nights, tabletop games, fitness classes, and outings-plus, there's respite care if family needs a break, hospice care for end-of-life comfort, and memory care support for those who need it, all with a focus on letting people keep as much independence and dignity as possible while getting help when they want it. Each cottage is managed by a team that's used to helping seniors, and everyone who works there's trained and compassionate, with on-site and phone support twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Those who come for short-term stays can get the same services as long-term residents, and families often mention the ease of visiting and all the options for socializing or quiet rest, since there are plenty of places indoors and out where folks can gather or simply enjoy the peace of the woods in this quiet part of Mill Creek.
