About The Village of Cason Hammock

The Village of Cason Hammock sits in The Villages, right in the City of Wildwood, Florida, covering about 2,231 acres, and it was set up back on June 11, 2018, following Florida Statutes Chapter 190 and Wildwood Ordinance O2018-26, and once folks get settled in, they find out the place is tied with community development districts like CDD 12 and CDD 13, meaning some rules and services come through the district, and it serves all sorts of folks in neighborhoods like Bradford, Citrus Grove, and Chitty Chatty, with a total of over 8,000 home sites. There's a housing layout called courtyard villa with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a private kitchen, and a living area, which suits people who want extra space, and the homes are handy for pets since there are dog parks and pet-friendly setups. The Village of Cason Hammock's known for recreation, with five executive golf courses, pitch and putt courses, championship softball fields, and 28 swimming pools scattered around, and even though activities like pools, parks, and dog parks attract a lot of people, the pool is really popular for relaxing or meeting neighbors.

Folks have access to The Enrichment Academy, which offers all kinds of programs and activities like socials, Fit Club, fishing, outdoor excursions, Senior Games, and there's even Running of the Squares, camp villages for families, and S.T.A.R. for student resources, plus it's got championship softball for folks who like team sports. If living here, residents use their amenity money to pay for extra perks, trail fees, and golf course maintenance, and utilities like water and sanitation are managed through programs that let you start or stop service, pay bills, report problems, schedule bulk pick-up, and check irrigation schedules or boil water notices, and commercial customers get covered too.

Community Watch, district property management, and safety services oversee things like emergency management and employment programs, while the Wildwood Police Department checks traffic, runs speed enforcement, and tries to keep things safe, but there's still a big traffic concern where golf carts have to merge with cars about 200 feet east of the entry gates, which can get risky for both carts and bicycles, and folks have voiced problems over bike accidents and say that opening the blocked pedestrian path to Roudell Way, further from the gate, might help with cart safety by keeping carts away from mixing with car traffic, but that decision's still up in the air. Community standards, ID card services, customer service, the Resident Academy, and adopt-a-bench programs keep daily life running, and monthly regular district meetings happen at Everglades Recreation on Marsh Bend Trail, giving residents a say in what happens locally. District governance covers the community boundaries, municipal changes, and helps pay for all those services by levying assessments as allowed by law. So when folks move into The Village of Cason Hammock, they get a mix of recreation, safety oversight, utilities, and district support, and while the setup gives lots of choices and activities, there are some concerns with traffic, especially golf carts getting mixed up with cars at the eastern entry, and residents and staff keep looking for new ways to make things run smoother and safer.
