    Attentive care, clean rooms, activities

I get amazing, attentive care from nurses, CNAs and top-notch management; rooms are spotless and maintenance is excellent. The Activities Director runs organized programs, crafts, exercise and local entertainment - staff truly treat this as residents' home. The original building felt gloomy and dated (the newer location is much cleaner and cheerier). Meals are poor with minimal options, and I still have some lingering concerns about the facility overall, but I would recommend it for the care and staff.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Rohr Home is mixed but leans positive with respect to direct care and staff performance, while consistently noting concerns about the physical environment and dining. Multiple reviewers praise the quality of medical and personal care: nurses and CNAs are described as attentive, and care is characterized as "amazing" or "very good." Reviewers repeatedly call out that staff are friendly and remind residents that the facility is their home, indicating an emphasis on respect and resident-centered interactions.

Staffing and management receive strong positive mention. Management is called "top-notch," maintenance is described as excellent, and rooms are reported clean and well maintained. The Activities Director is singled out as "amazing," and activities programming is organized with a mix of onsite events and local entertainment. Specific programming highlights include volunteer-led craft days, exercise programs, and seasonal celebrations such as Christmas parties. These activities appear to contribute positively to residents' quality of life and community atmosphere.

However, the facility's physical environment is a recurring concern. Several reviewers describe the setting as gloomy, old, or hospital-like, which diminishes the otherwise strong impressions of care and service. While cleanliness and maintenance are praised, the aesthetic and age of the building itself create a dated or institutional feel for some residents and family members. One reviewer contrasts locations, noting a newer location that is cleaner and cheerier, suggesting that facility age and recent renovations (or lack thereof) materially affect perception.

Dining emerges as a clear negative theme. Multiple reviewers complain of poor dinner quality and minimal meal options. These comments are specific and consistent enough to indicate a tangible area for improvement; meal quality and variety appear below expectations compared with other aspects of care and programming. Given that dining is a daily experience for residents, this shortcoming is likely to have an outsized effect on overall satisfaction.

A final theme is trust and overall confidence in the facility. While many reviews explicitly recommend Rohr Home based on care, staff, and activities, at least one review raises trust concerns. These remarks are not elaborated in the summaries provided but are significant because they contrast with otherwise strong praise for staff and management. The presence of trust-related comments alongside praise for attentive staff suggests that perceptions may be influenced by factors beyond daily care (for example, facility condition, administrative transparency, or isolated incidents), and that some prospective residents or families may want to probe further.

In summary, Rohr Home is consistently praised for the human elements of senior living: compassionate, attentive nursing and caregiving, engaged activities leadership, friendly staff, and strong maintenance and housekeeping. These strengths create a supportive environment for many residents. Counterbalancing those positives are recurring concerns about the facility’s appearance and atmosphere (described as gloomy or hospital-like), mediocre dining options and quality, and some unspecified trust concerns. Prospective residents and families should weigh the excellent care and robust activities programming against the dated physical environment and limited meal choices. If possible, visiting in person to assess the building’s ambiance, sample meals, and speak with management about the noted trust concerns would help clarify whether Rohr Home is the right fit.

    About Rohr Home

Rohr Home counts 40 of 60 certified beds open as of July 2024 and sits in the Bartow area as a skilled nursing facility. The care team helps with daily needs like bathing, dressing, eating, transferring, and medication management. Rohr Home supports folks who need skilled nursing care, short-term rehabilitation between hospital and home, and offers help for those dependent on round-the-clock nursing. You'll find 12-16 hour daily nursing care with a physician checking in and a 24-hour call system for supervision. The community offers all-day dining in a restaurant-style setting, where a professional chef prepares meals, and you'll see options for special diets like allergy-sensitive and diabetes menus. Residents eat in a dining room, and services include meal prep, housekeeping, laundry, transportation, and move-in help.

The living spaces come with private bathrooms, kitchenettes, cable TV, telephones, air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and an emergency alert system. Scheduled activities keep everybody connected, like movie nights, arts, and music programs, with both resident-run and community-sponsored events. You also get a spa, sauna, wellness room, outdoor walking paths, garden spaces, arts and activity rooms, a game room, and a library. Rohr Home focuses on a community feeling, making room for group activities as well as quiet time. Residents have help with transfers and bathing along with medication management. Extra care includes safe medication storage and dispensing.

Rohr Home takes Medicaid and Medicare. It offers skilled nursing, intermediate care, restorative and rehabilitation programs, along with respite and palliative care. Residents won't find pet-friendly options, and there's no parking information or details on certain outdoor amenities, but care and comfort remain at the center. The facility follows Fair Housing & Equal Opportunity laws and ranks in the top tier of hospitals for extended care. Infection and accident ratings cover many areas, and patients rate nurse and doctor communication, cleanliness, staff response, and other aspects of the experience. Rohr Home keeps a simple booking system through appointments, often by phone, and works as a residential care home. The goal here is supporting each resident's needs day to day, keeping things steady, and giving as much help as a person might require.
