    Caring staff and engaging activities

I'm very happy with the full-care services - the nursing staff is amazing and genuinely cares about residents' health while keeping families updated. There are engaging activities (coloring, drawing, cognitive programs), good meals, a new passionate administrator, and pleasant common areas like the porch and TV room; the facility is older but being updated.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is positive with important caveats. Multiple reviewers emphasize that nursing staff are caring, attentive, and genuinely concerned about residents' health and well-being. Residents are described as well taken care of, with staff often providing frequent updates to family members. The presence of a new administrator is highlighted as a positive development — described as “on the ball” and passionate — and reviewers note that visible efforts are underway to update an otherwise outdated facility.

Care quality and staffing emerge as central themes. On the positive side, reviewers consistently report that core care needs are being met: full care services are available, meals are fed well, residents maintain freedom and privileges, and supervision is provided without unnecessary restriction. Staff demeanor is repeatedly mentioned as friendly and kind-mannered, which supports a compassionate care environment. However, several reviews also raise staffing concerns: phrases like “short staffed” and “not enough attention” indicate that while staff are good and caring, there may not always be sufficient personnel to provide frequent one-on-one attention. This tension—strong individual commitment from staff versus limited staffing levels—is a notable pattern.

Facilities and environment receive mixed feedback. The physical plant is described as outdated in appearance, but reviewers also note that renovations or updates are in progress. Amenities such as a porch and TV room are specifically mentioned as positives, and references to a “fresh breeze” suggest that outdoor or well-ventilated spaces contribute to resident comfort. The ongoing updates and an engaged administrator point to a facility that is aware of past shortcomings and is actively making improvements.

Activities and daily life are portrayed favorably. Reviewers cite engaging, cognitively stimulating activities like coloring, drawing, and other cognitive-focused programming. These offerings, combined with communal areas and preserved freedoms for residents, indicate an environment that supports both socialization and autonomy. Dining and feeding support are also noted positively, with reviewers specifically saying meals are fed well.

In summary, the dominant impression is of a nursing and rehabilitation center with strong, compassionate staff and effective communication, led by an administrator who appears committed to improvements. The facility delivers full-spectrum care and meaningful activities, and residents are described as having maintained freedoms and comfortable communal spaces. The principal concerns are the outdated appearance of parts of the facility (though remediation is underway) and recurring short-staffing issues that can limit individualized attention. Prospective families should weigh the clear strengths in care quality, staff attitude, and management engagement against the potential for occasional staffing-related delays or reduced one-on-one time. Continued investment in staffing levels and completion of facility updates would address the main negatives noted by reviewers.

About Tower Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

Tower Nursing And Rehabilitation Center sits in Raleigh, North Carolina, and has 180 beds for residents who need round-the-clock care. The building has a comfortable, home-like feel, making daily living a bit easier for those staying a short while or settling in for a longer stay. The place brings together a highly trained nursing staff that's always there, day and night, ready to handle complex health needs and provide skilled nursing care. Folks needing care after a surgery or an accident can get short-term rehabilitation here, while others get long-term support if they can't manage alone anymore. The team includes workers from different backgrounds-nurses, therapists, and others-who work together so residents move smoothly from hospital stays to the center, and they focus on physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. Administrator Veronique Clements oversees everything, making sure care meets both personal and medical needs. They're careful about avoiding hospital returns and aim to help everyone get better when possible, and they've got staff who keep an eye on memory loss and dementia, too. Residents here get a positive and low-stress place to recover, whether they're staying to heal up or making it their new home. Tower Nursing And Rehabilitation Center belongs to the North Carolina Health Care Facilities Association, which means they follow the state's standards for skilled nursing care.
