    Compassionate staff restored my confidence

I had a very positive rehab stay. The staff were attentive, compassionate, and recovery-focused - nurses (especially Nurse Vicky), CNAs and PT/OT therapists helped restore my confidence. The facility was clean and comfortable with private rooms, good food, and helpful case management. I would return and recommend it for skilled nursing and rehab.

    Summary of reviews

Santé of Chandler presents as a modern, rehab‑oriented skilled nursing facility with a clearly visible emphasis on short‑term recovery. The building, private rooms, and in‑room amenities (microwave, mini‑fridge, TV) are frequently praised, as are the cleanliness and upkeep of the interior and exterior grounds. Many reviewers describe a strong therapy culture: physical and occupational therapy teams are repeatedly credited with skilled, motivating care that supports recovery and discharge home. Group therapy and a range of activities are available and appreciated by residents who are ambulatory and engaged.

Staffing is the most polarized element in the reviews. Numerous accounts highlight compassionate, attentive nurses, committed CNAs, and case managers who go above and beyond; individual clinicians and therapists receive frequent praise for personal attention and clinical skill. At the same time, there are consistent accounts of variability in clinical performance. Concerns include delayed medication administration, inconsistent adherence to care protocols (for example bowel‑care routines and patch application), and uneven wound‑care continuity—issues that have led some families to seek regulatory review or alternate placements. Call‑bell responsiveness and timely urgent‑response processes are recurring operational weaknesses, and staffing variability or workload pressures are commonly cited as contributing factors.

Dining and housekeeping show mixed performance. The facility dining room and some kitchen staff are complimented for food quality and accommodation of needs, but others report cold meals, incorrect room deliveries, and intermittent problems with special orders. Housekeeping is generally noted as effective, yet there are recurring notes about delayed room servicing, linen shortages, and isolated sanitation concerns that families expect to discuss during tours or upon admission.

Management and care coordination produce varied impressions. Several reviewers commend case managers and social‑services staff for helpful discharge planning and clear guidance; conversely, other families report difficulty reaching case workers, inconsistent follow‑up, and coordination gaps for offsite appointments and transport. These communication gaps extend to family updates during care transitions and infection‑control periods, creating frustration for some relatives. Cost and billing concerns are mentioned alongside expectations for higher service consistency given the facility’s daily rates.

Overall pattern: the facility has strong structural and programmatic assets—especially in rehabilitation and in the dedication of many front‑line staff—but operational inconsistencies affect the resident experience for some families. Prospective residents and their representatives should inquire specifically about nurse‑call response times, medication‑administration checks and documentation, wound‑care plans and continuity across transitions, transportation processes for external appointments, and current staffing levels during the tour and admission process to align expectations with individual care needs.
