    Resort-like luxury active adult community

I've lived here for several years and love the resort-like, luxury cruise-ship vibe - spectacular amenities, well-sized apartments with lovely views, and chef-driven dining in multiple venues. There are abundant daily activities, clubs and outings that made it easy to make new friends, and the staff - from front desk to nursing and therapy teams - are attentive, knowledgeable and genuinely caring. The Life Care continuum and convenient services (valet, transport, housekeeping) give real peace of mind. It's pricey, but worth it if you can afford a top-tier, active adult community; I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Vi at Silverstone presents as an upscale continuing-care retirement community with a pronounced emphasis on amenities, dining, and social engagement. Reviewers consistently describe a resort-like campus with well-maintained grounds, multiple pools, a sizable fitness center, an 18-hole putting green, and a variety of indoor activity spaces. Apartment and villa layouts are reported as spacious and well appointed, and the site’s proximity to Phoenix, shopping, cultural venues, and medical facilities is viewed as a clear convenience.

Dining and food-service quality are recurring strengths. The community is frequently praised for chef-driven menus, on-premise baking and desserts, multiple dining rooms with distinct menus and atmospheres, and a fine-dining presentation. Housekeeping, maintenance, valet parking, transportation services, and concierge-style conveniences are also noted as operational strengths that support resident independence and comfort. The Life Care contract/Continuing Care model and an on-site care center are highlighted as providing reassurance about future health-care needs.

Programmatically, Vi at Silverstone offers a broad palette of activities: fitness classes (yoga, tai chi, aquatics), educational lectures, arts and music programs, clubs (book, bridge, acting), resident committees, and frequent social events. Many reviewers characterize the social life as active and collegial, with resident-led initiatives and opportunities for volunteerism and team activities. Nursing and therapy teams receive positive mentions for professionalism, responsiveness in clinical care, and rehabilitative support.

Areas for prospective residents to weigh include cost and operational consistency. The community requires a significant entrance fee and ongoing monthly costs; reviewers portray this as a barrier for those on moderate budgets. Several comments point to variable staff responsiveness, occasional scheduling and coordination gaps, and uneven front-desk or administrative communication. A subset of impressions describe parts of the facility as having a more clinical or sterile ambiance rather than a homelike atmosphere. Wayfinding within the campus can be confusing for newcomers, and pet policies are restrictive.

Finally, while most commentary is strongly positive about lifestyle, services, and leadership, there are isolated critical observations concerning communication, insurance-provider limitations, and service responsiveness. Some reviewers also noted reduced program availability during public-health or infection-control periods. Overall, Vi at Silverstone appears well suited for prospective residents who prioritize high-quality dining, robust amenities, an active social calendar, and the security of a continuum-of-care contract, but the financial commitment, prospective operational variability, and certain policy restrictions merit careful evaluation during a tour and contract review.

    About Vi at Silverstone

Vi at Silverstone sits on a large 165-acre campus in Scottsdale, Arizona, and gives seniors a place to live that feels open and upscale, with sweeping Southwest views and local art throughout the community, and folks here range from healthy, active seniors to those who might need more help with daily living or even memory care or skilled nursing, and there's a strong team of nurses and caregivers on staff around the clock, plus a doctor on call and visiting medical professionals like speech, occupational, physical therapists, a dentist, podiatrist, and nurse services, so residents can stay comfortable and safe. The property's Wellness Center is open weekdays for nurse check-ups, and they offer Wellness Advantage therapy, fitness classes like Tai Chi and Zumba, plus a state-of-the-art gym with TechnoGym equipment if you like staying fit, and swimming's easy with both a salt-filtered heated pool, a hot tub, and water exercise classes to keep joints limber and spirits high. Meals are provided daily, with different options including vegetarian dishes, and folks sit down for anything from casual bistro bites to fine dining, with new seasonal menus popping up, and there's a culinary team that focuses hard on good taste and nutrition, and even though meals are served, people can still personalize their homes since there's over 20 floor plans to choose from, and services like weekly housekeeping, laundry for linens and towels, and scheduled maintenance make things easy.

There are lots of social and common areas both indoors and out, where people spend time together in spaces like card rooms, a movie theater, a bar, and golfing areas, or they can pop by the spa and salon, or stop at the pet-friendly, fully enclosed dog park with a drinking fountain for dogs up to 35 pounds, and there's valet parking and a garage for residents, plus transportation services for shopping, outings, visits to Mayo Clinic Hospital nearby, and appointments, which keeps life moving. They have both memory support and assisted living options with individualized care plans, so those with Alzheimer's and dementia get the help they need and spend time in a safe space where staff focus on meaningful activities and daily living, offering help with transfers, medications, bathing, and incontinence care, all to maintain independence as long as possible. The activities calendar's full with things that are designed to keep people learning, moving, laughing, and meeting neighbors, and there's always support available if someone needs standby assistance moving, with staff awake 24 hours for emergencies. The leadership team looks after both the property and residents' wellbeing, working to make sure everyone has a good, safe, and social day, and even with all these services around, pets are still welcome, and those little thoughtful touches, like devotions offsite and easy access to local entertainment, all add up, so while Vi at Silverstone offers a wide range of retirement living, from independent and assisted living to memory care and skilled nursing all under the continuing care retirement community model, the focus stays on dignity, health, and letting people get the most out of each day.
