    Caring staff spacious apartments resort-like

I moved my mother here and have been very pleased - the staff are caring and professional, with nursing support, doctors who visit, and transportation for appointments. The apartments are spacious, clean and well laid-out with balconies and walk-in closets; dining is excellent (multiple restaurant options, great chef and dietary accommodations) and housekeeping, laundry, cable and internet are included. The community feels small and personal, with abundant amenities (pool, gym, salon, library), plenty of activities and outings, and a resort-like, welcoming atmosphere.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Westminster Village presents as a well-appointed, nonprofit senior living community with resort-like common areas, extensive on-site amenities, and an active social program. Reviewers consistently highlight the property's landscaping, walking paths, multiple dining venues, pool and fitness facilities, beauty salon, library, and other conveniences such as a coffee/snack shop and on-site bank. Apartment options range from studios to large two-bedroom units with balconies and open layouts; many families described the residences as spacious and presentable.

Care and staff: Care quality is generally described positively. The community employs professional nurses, certified caregivers, and on-site LPN coverage during the day with on-call support; families noted that clinical staffing and transportation to appointments are available. Staff are frequently characterized as caring and attentive, and many reviewers said the environment relieved family caregiving burden and supported resident independence. At the same time, several accounts indicate variability in staffing consistency and responsiveness across shifts, suggesting that day-to-day staff performance may not be uniform.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is a prominent strength of the community. Multiple formal dining rooms, chef-prepared menus, and specialty offerings such as brunches and take-out/room-service options contribute to a high-end dining experience for many residents. The team appears capable of accommodating dietary needs when requested. However, there are recurring comments about inconsistent meal preparation — specifically seasoning and portioning — and that some menu items are too rich or not aligned with low-fat/low-sodium preferences. Prospective residents with strict medical dietary requirements should confirm specific menu accommodations and monitoring processes.

Activities and social life: The community offers a broad and active calendar — cards, crafts, fitness classes, movie nights, trips, and special evenings — under the direction of an activities coordinator. Many reviewers praised the variety and frequency of programming; others mentioned occasional boredom for individual residents, indicating that engagement can depend on personal interests and participation levels. Overall, the program appears robust with opportunities for socialization, exercise, and outings.

Facilities and maintenance: Facilities are generally described as clean, upscale, and well maintained in common areas, with welcoming interiors and hotel-like details. Housekeeping and laundry services are included. Nevertheless, a portion of feedback points to cleanliness and air-quality concerns in some apartments (dust associated with HVAC systems) and to localized maintenance needs. Visitors should inspect apartments directly and ask about recent maintenance work and HVAC cleaning schedules.

Management, cost, and availability: Westminster Village operates as a nonprofit and many reviewers found staff and administration well organized. That said, the community has a significant upfront buy-in and ongoing fee structure, with noted price increases as care needs escalate — a factor that places it out of budget for some families. There is also an active waiting list, so immediate move-in availability can be limited.

Bottom line: Westminster Village offers strong amenities, varied living options, and generally good clinical staffing within a resort-like setting. It is likely a good fit for families seeking comprehensive services, social programming, and higher-end dining. Prospective residents should prioritize a walk-through of specific apartments, ask detailed questions about staffing patterns and dietary accommodations, and review the financial terms carefully given the high buy-in and potential for escalating costs.

    About Westminster Village

Westminster Village sits on a 16-acre, lushly landscaped campus and you'll notice right away how everything is set up for comfort and ease. The community runs as a not-for-profit, continuing care retirement community, so you get the choice of independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing care all in one place, with Weyrich Health Care Center and Sackton Assisted Living providing support along the way. The campus holds 236 luxury apartment homes for independent living, each with features you can tailor to your liking, and there are 23 well-appointed apartments in Sackton Assisted Living. Licensed nurses are there twenty-four hours every day, ready to help with medical care and personal needs, so you're always covered. If you need some help with things like bathing, dressing, or medication, there's always someone to help, and the emergency alert systems bring peace of mind, especially with the added layer of safety. Folks also find tailored memory care here for Alzheimer's and dementia support, respite stays for short-term care, and skilled nursing for recovery or ongoing needs, so as health needs change, you can count on staying in the same place.

Westminster Village keeps everything accessible - wheelchair-friendly layouts, on-site parking, air conditioning, and restrooms for visitors and residents. The main entrance lobby welcomes you, and you can spot interesting touches like a collection of Kachina dolls there. The Front Library stands as a quiet spot for reading, and there's a chapel for those who want a space for spiritual reflection. Walking courtyards and exquisitely manicured gardens offer a peaceful place to relax or stroll, and there's a library, salon, heated pool, fitness centers, and a spa for other ways to feel good. The culinary program stands out for preparing meals from fresh ingredients, and the dining rooms accommodate special diets, including for diabetes or allergies. Residents enjoy amenities like a private event space, a luxury salon, arts room, house keeping, laundry including dry cleaning, community-sponsored activities, and a heated pool with a spa for year-round comfort.

On top of that, there's a shuttle for transportation when needed, concierge services, telephone access in each room, and staff fluent in English. The community believes in promoting independence and dignity above all, so there's always a focus on wellness-offering physical, occupational, and speech therapy, plus exercise and wellness programs, pet therapy, and activities for social, spiritual, and intellectual interest. Westminster Village hosts lifelong learning, creative and social opportunities, and plenty of resident-run and community-sponsored gatherings, including movie nights and events, with a focus on mind and body wellness. The community map guides new residents, and with on-site health care at Weyrich and a full schedule of events and classes, there's little chance to feel left out or bored.

Floor plans fit different needs so residents can pick what works for them, and various payment and refund options, like giving 60% back on the entrance fee or a declining balance over five years, help make planning simpler. The facility takes credit cards and has move-in coordination along with advisory services, so transitions can go smoothly. Westminster Village connects residents, staff, and families through blog updates, a newsletter, a resident portal, and an online map so everyone can stay up to speed. Residents and their families know they'll get a secure, connected environment on a beautiful campus with breathtaking views and a friendly, homelike atmosphere, where staff work hard every day to help folks age with dignity and respect.
