I'm very pleased with this community - the staff are consistently kind, helpful, and engaged, the campus is clean and attractive with nice outdoor spaces, and meals and activities are solid. Admissions and move-in were smooth, apartments are accessible, and therapy/medical support is strong. Overall great value and I'd recommend it for anyone seeking attentive, respectful care and an active community.

    Summary of reviews

Reviewer sentiment for Tempe Post Acute is highly polarized, with a substantial subset of families and residents praising hands-on caregivers and therapy staff while others describe operational and quality inconsistencies. Positive accounts highlight compassionate CNAs and nurses, strong therapy offerings (PT/OT/speech), effective wound care, an engaged activities program, and value-oriented pricing. Admissions and case-management staff are frequently cited as helpful, and many reviewers appreciate the facility’s accessible location, transportation, and flexible visitation policies.

Clinical care quality appears mixed. Therapy teams receive consistent positive comments for improving mobility and functional outcomes, and some reviewers specifically single out individual therapists and wound-care nurses for excellent care. At the same time, reviewers repeatedly cite inconsistent nursing presence, delayed or irregular medication administration, and prolonged call-light response times. These operational gaps have been associated with delays in basic assistance and occasional adverse events requiring hospital transfer, which some families attributed to coordination and staffing shortfalls.

Staff and conduct assessments are similarly mixed. Many reviews describe compassionate, attentive CNAs and unit nurses who provide respectful, person-centered care. Conversely, other accounts describe variability in aide conduct, concerns about responsiveness during nights and weekends, and instances of unprofessional tone or behavior. Overall, the pattern suggests pockets of strong bedside staff performance coexisting with periods or shifts of limited coverage and slower responsiveness.

Dining, activities, and daily living support show variability. The activities program, social events, and communal engagement receive positive mentions and contribute to resident well-being. Food quality and portioning elicit inconsistent feedback — some reviewers praise meals and accommodated diets, while others describe bland or insufficient portions and inconsistent tray/service timing. Personal-care routines such as bathing schedules, incontinence care, and laundry/housekeeping are areas of recurring concern when staffing is constrained.

Facility condition and environment are uneven. Multiple reviewers identify an older building footprint with small hallways and shared multi-occupancy rooms and bathrooms in some units. Cleanliness and odor-management are recurrent operational concerns in particular rooms or shared bathrooms, while common areas are more often described as clean and maintained. Maintenance response times vary, and there are periodic pest-control and sanitation issues referenced by families.

Management, communication, and administrative processes display variability across reviews. Positive accounts cite responsive administrators who communicate consistently and coordinate care well; negative accounts describe delayed communication about hospital transfers, discharge coordination problems, inconsistent documentation, and perceived unresponsiveness from leadership. Additionally, there are allegations concerning solicitation of favorable reviews that merit further scrutiny.

Notable patterns for prospective residents and families: (1) Evaluate specific unit and room options in person — ask to see the exact room and shared-bath arrangements; (2) inquire about staffing ratios and average call-light response times for the unit and shift you are considering; (3) review medication-administration and documentation procedures, and ask how transfers and hospital communication are handled; (4) confirm therapy frequency and individualized rehab goals; and (5) verify housekeeping, laundry, and infection-control practices, including odor-management and pest-control protocols. Taken together, the reviews indicate that Tempe Post Acute can provide strong, person-centered care in many cases, particularly around therapy and bedside caregiving, but also exhibits persistent operational weaknesses tied to staffing, documentation, facility age, and communication that should be assessed before placement.
