    Caring staff, clean bright apartments

I placed my mom here and I'm very satisfied. The staff are genuinely caring and communicative (Desiree and Annie stand out), nursing and medication management are professional, apartments are clean, bright and roomy, dining feels restaurant-quality, and regular activities and compassionate memory-care make this a warm, well-run community I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Oakmont of Burlingame is regularly described as a clean, well-kept community with a strong emphasis on compassionate, attentive caregiving. Families and residents frequently praise the staff’s warmth and patience, the concierge/front-desk support, and a visible continuity of care from long-tenured team members. Skilled nursing presence, routine daily wellness check-ins, and individualized care plans are common highlights; reviewers cite specific staff members and leadership as contributing to a home-like, family-oriented culture that eases transitions and supports end-of-life and memory-care needs.

Dining and activities are prominent features. Many reviewers describe restaurant-style dining driven by a talented culinary team, a broad activities schedule that includes chair exercises, bingo, musical performances, walking clubs, off-site excursions, and regular transportation for appointments and outings. Memory-care programming is characterized as engaging and person-centered. That said, some families note variability in meal seasoning and menu variety, and logistical issues have occasionally led to meals served at suboptimal temperatures. A portion of residents who seek higher-intensity cognitive stimulation or greater activity participation may find the programming less challenging or observe variable engagement levels among peers.

Facility amenities and unit design receive favorable comments: apartments are described as spacious and accessible with wide aisles, updated interiors and pleasant outdoor spaces, and useful therapeutic bathing options. Maintenance and move-in coordination are generally seen as responsive. Conversely, reviewers identify operational and administrative weaknesses at the facility level. These include a relatively high price point, intermittent front-desk or administrative coordination problems, occasional billing errors, and periods of management turnover that have affected follow-through on service plans. There are also operational concerns around responsiveness to some care-call requests and occasional utility or power reliability issues.

Overall, Oakmont of Burlingame presents as a well-maintained, staff-focused community with strong family communication, robust memory-care offerings, and a varied social program. Prospective residents and families should weigh the community’s strengths in staff quality, cleanliness, and programming against higher costs, occasional administrative variability, and the need to confirm that daily activity intensity and meal preferences align with a particular resident’s expectations.
