    Warm remodeled community, excellent care

I toured this family-run Desert Hot Springs community and was genuinely impressed. The staff are warm and attentive, rooms are recently remodeled with wall-mounted TVs and courtyard-facing privacy, the grounds and pool are pleasant, meals/snacks are delicious, and there's a spa-like feel with daily activities plus memory-care and hospice support - Heather in the office was especially helpful. My parents love it and I'd recommend it.

About Desert Cove Assisted Living at Desert Hot Springs

Desert Cove Assisted Living at Desert Hot Springs sits at 13660 Mountain View Rd in the Coachella Valley and has a 5.0 rating from 5 reviews, offering assisted living and memory care services for up to 56 residents in a peaceful, resort-style setting. The business management team, led by Heather Scott, keeps things running smoothly with help from a caring group of trained staff, including licensed vocational nurses and a pharmacy consultant, all available around the clock for support. As a licensed assisted living facility under the California Department of Social Services, Desert Cove offers 28 remodeled apartments-some private, some shared-each with kitchenettes and patios to enjoy sunsets over the San Jacinto mountains, and the grounds include a community garden, walking paths, a swimming pool, and outdoor patios. Residents can bring some pets under pet-friendly policies, and there's always someone nearby, with emergency pendants that work across the campus and a 24-hour call system.

You'll find a rich daily schedule with activities like karaoke, crafting in the arts and crafts area, movie nights, games, exercise videos, walking groups on easy paths, offsite outings, resident-run activities, and even a Namaste Relaxation Room and Fairy Garden activity spot for quieter moments. The on-site beauty salon, massage area, fitness room, gym, and spa make it easy to relax or stay active, while specialized programs support memory care for those living with Alzheimer's or dementia. The staff supports residents with meals made from quality ingredients in a dining room that overlooks the Coachella Valley, plus a breakfast nook, BBQ cookouts, and snacks, so there's always something fresh to eat. Laundry and dry-cleaning services happen on site, and assistance with dressing, bathing, toileting, and grooming is always provided with privacy and sensitivity.

Desert Cove gives plenty of help for those needing day care, respite care, or extra support with medical needs, since medication management is handled with skilled oversight and LVNs monitor care for 12-16 hours a day, with help always a quick call away. Residents use community spaces for devotionals or socializing, and activities are often tailored for each person's interests or abilities, so everyone has the opportunity to stay engaged. Outdoor swimming, gardening, and walking are popular, especially in the lovely courtyard or out under the trees, while indoor recreation spaces give the chance to join music programs, attend live entertainment, or visit the well-stocked library and game room.

Desert Cove has all-inclusive pricing, accepts credit cards and checks, and keeps families in touch with email, Skype, and FaceTime. Residents and families can access guidance on long-term care, insurance, and caregiving resources, plus support for health, mental wellness, and elder care needs via community guides and a network of agencies, including home health and hospice, fall prevention, and other safety resources. Apartments are spacious, some with private rooms when available, and divider walls offer privacy in shared spaces. With an open, friendly atmosphere and plenty of ways to enjoy life, this community stands out for its helpful staff, thoughtful safety features, and comfortable, well-kept surroundings, and it's recognized for exceptional cleanliness and dining service among other local communities.
