    Immaculate community with exceptional care

I chose this brand-new, immaculate community and couldn't be happier - elegant, resort-like design with breathtaking Santa Monica Mountain views. The wellness-driven Vitality Program (yoga, tai chi, hydrotherapy, red-light/salt therapy, unique treadmill pool) and chef-prepared meals exceeded expectations. Lauren the director, Rony the owner, and concierge Anna are hands-on, professional, and deeply caring - staff even evacuated residents safely during fires, and my mother is walking again after 3+ years. Every level of care (independent, assisted, memory) is personalized; the activities, social life, and peace of mind for our family are unparalleled. Highly recommend.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive: Ciela Senior Living is repeatedly described as a luxurious, wellness-focused, resort-like community with breathtaking views of the Santa Monica Mountains and an abundance of high-end finishes. Many reviewers emphasize the elegant architecture, natural light, lush landscaping, art installations, and thoughtfully designed common areas (lobby coffee, interior courtyard balcony, terraces and decks). Apartments are frequently noted as spacious with high ceilings, modern kitchenettes, in-unit washers/dryers, and attractive storage. The community projects a five-star resort vibe that reviewers say contributes to residents’ dignity, joy, and sense of wellbeing.

Care quality and clinical offerings are a dominant positive theme. Reviewers report that Ciela provides individualized, meaningful care across independent living, assisted living, and memory care. Several reviewers cite concrete improvements in resident health and mobility (one described a mother walking again after more than three years), as well as enhanced social engagement and emotional wellbeing after moving in. Clinical and therapeutic services — including clinical music therapy, personalized wellness sessions, and a breadth of restorative therapies — are singled out as differentiators that support residents’ physical and cognitive recovery. The presence of specialized memory care and a comprehensive Vitality Program reinforce the impression of clinically minded, outcomes-driven care.

Staff, management, and ownership receive consistent praise. Multiple reviews highlight attentive, compassionate staff who form warm, familial relationships with residents. Specific leaders are named and commended: Lauren, the community director, and Rony, the President, are characterized as hands-on, perfectionistic, and deeply involved in operations and resident safety. Concierge-level staff (e.g., Anna) are mentioned for going above and beyond practical needs. Commenters emphasize high staff professionalism, strong training, and a proactive approach to resident engagement and safety — including well-executed evacuations during regional wildfires — which lends considerable peace of mind to families.

Amenities and programming are frequently described as life-enhancing. The community offers a robust menu of wellness and recreational options: yoga, tai chi, sound-guided meditation, rooftop yoga, salt therapy, hydrotherapy pools, an innovative treadmill-floor pool, fitness professionals, social hours, movie screenings, and themed events. Dining is another standout: reviewers praise chef-prepared, fresh, and beautifully presented meals with daily specials and upscale menus. Reviewers note that these amenities foster a lively, social atmosphere where residents feel welcomed, engaged, and celebrated rather than institutionalized.

There are a handful of recurring concerns and mixed impressions that should be noted. Several reviewers remarked on limited outdoor space or a small garden footprint relative to expectations; one or two felt the dining area is cramped. A minority described the sales or admissions interactions as overly sales-focused, leaving some questions unanswered during tours. There are conflicting reports about the pool and aquatic programming — some reviews describe an infinity or hydrotherapy pool and aquacize offerings, while other reviewers say there is no pool or that aquacize classes are missing — suggesting expectations or communication around specific amenities may vary or be evolving in a new community. A few comments mentioned an initial eerie feel or that certain areas did not feel spacious, though these were not widespread.

Contextually, many reviewers emphasize that Ciela is a brand-new, owner-operated community. That newness contributes to the immaculate appearance, modern amenities, and close owner involvement, but also means some offerings and perceptions may still be settling (e.g., room for growth in outdoor landscaping, full development of class schedules, clarity during sales tours). Despite those caveats, the dominant pattern is one of exceptionally high satisfaction: reviewers repeatedly recommend the community, highlight tangible quality-of-life improvements for residents, and commend the management and staff for responsiveness and excellence. If prospective residents or families have specific priorities (large outdoor gardens, guaranteed aquatic classes, or particular dining seating expectations), they should confirm those particulars during a visit, but the overall reputation from reviews is of a high-value, wellness-centered, luxurious senior living community with strong leadership and deeply caring staff.

    About Ciela Senior Living

Ciela Senior Living sits in Pacific Palisades, California, right in the Santa Monica Mountains, and the building is a mid-rise that can support up to 100 residents. The apartments come in studios, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom layouts, and some have two bathrooms; residents can choose to bring their own furniture or select furnished options. In the shared areas, you'll see floor-to-ceiling windows with wide views of the mountains, designer cabinetry, a library, beauty salon, movie theater, common rooms for games, and a garden for walks or relaxing. There are big outdoor spaces, walking paths through nearby parks, and pets like dogs, cats, birds, and fish are welcome as long as folks take care of their animals and follow the rules.

The community provides Independent Living, Assisted Living, and Memory Care, along with specialized programs like a dedicated Parkinson's program and a Vitality wellness center. For Memory Care, shared bedrooms start at $12,995 a month and private rooms start at $15,995 a month, but for other options, you'll need to ask for current prices. Every apartment has a washer and dryer except those in Memory Care, and you'll also find appliances like a microwave and refrigerator with ice maker, secure Salto wireless keyless entry, and strong Wi-Fi throughout the building.

Ciela offers gourmet, chef-prepared California cuisine with three meals per day, serving meals indoors and out, and staff can handle dietary needs and preferences. There's a salt therapy room, a rooftop yoga area, an infrared sauna, and a Hydro Works 2000 Hydrotherapy pool, as well as other wellness activities like sound-guided meditation, acupuncture, barre classes, and red light therapy. The daily schedule includes sponsored activities, recreation in the game room or library, and social events to help residents stay involved.

Support services include medication management, physical therapy, housekeeping, laundry, linen service, and 24/7 concierge, plus transportation for appointments or outings. The community is near physicians, cafes, parks, and pharmacies, and the staff checks licensing and training regularly; Ciela holds California RCFE License #198320375 and gets reviewed every two years to keep its official status. Security covers the campus, and there's a 24-hour call and emergency response system.

Residents get help with bathing, dressing, transfers, or whatever else is needed, all delivered by a trained team day or night. The floor plans are accessible for folks with disabilities, and community programs are designed to engage residents physically, mentally, and emotionally with a focus on purpose, community, environment, joy, and movement. Ciela runs a process where a senior living advisor helps families learn about care needs and fit, and there's also a free service for families looking for the right living option. Ciela has earned an 8.4 Community Score and participates in awards like Best of Senior Living and Best Activities in Senior Living. Facility tours show the real living spaces, menus, and community events so families can see daily life first-hand.
