I'm very pleased with this community - the staff are warm and genuinely caring, led by Luz Rose (and Teresa) who provide personalized care plans and go above and beyond. The facility is beautiful and homey, meals (including vegetarian options) are tasty, activities are varied, and management is responsive. My family feels my loved one is well cared for and happy here; overall a very strong choice with only minor room for improvement.

Summary of reviews
The Plaza at Westwood Senior Living presents a mixed but informative profile for prospective residents and families. Many comments highlight strong personal care and an engaged, compassionate staff; specific leadership figures are frequently described as accessible and hands-on, and admissions coordination is often characterized as supportive. The community is noted for its elegant architecture, well-appointed common areas, and a central Westwood location convenient to UCLA and Beverly Hills. Rooms are described as spacious in many cases, with some units offering balconies and pleasant views.
Care quality is generally praised for its responsiveness, individualized attention, and proactive medical coordination. Families recount attentive caregivers, prompt communication about daily needs, and staff who go beyond basic expectations. However, there are recurring concerns about staffing consistency, particularly during overnight shifts, which families link to occasional delays in care or responsiveness. Overall, staffing appears caring and capable when present, but shift-to-shift variability is an operational risk to monitor.
Dining and activities are strengths for many residents: reviewers describe a skilled culinary team, varied menus with vegetarian options, and a lively activities calendar that includes art, music, fitness classes, clubs, and special events. At the same time, several comments indicate uneven meal quality and a desire for greater menu variety. Activity access also appears uneven—while there are numerous offerings, participation and engagement for less mobile or visually impaired residents are sometimes limited.
Facility condition and operations show contrasts. The building's exterior and communal dining areas are often described as attractive and well kept, but some rooms and interior corridors are characterized as dated, with window A/C units, older carpeting, or limited ventilation. Accessibility is a concern in certain units (limited roll-in shower access, general wheelchair limitations), and practical constraints such as narrow parking, no automatic entry, and additional fees (e.g., laundry, high upfront/non-refundable deposits) were noted. Management impressions vary widely: many praise an open-door, compassionate director and responsive management team, while others describe inconsistent communication style and professionalism from administrative or front-desk staff. Cleanliness and sanitation are similarly uneven across comments—some describe meticulous housekeeping, others note lapses in certain areas.
In sum, The Plaza at Westwood offers notable strengths in personalized caregiving, leadership engagement, appealing architecture, and a robust activities and dining program. Prospective residents should weigh those strengths against operational inconsistencies—particularly around staffing continuity, administrative communication, accessibility, and room-level condition—and clarify financial policies and accessibility options during the tour and intake process.
