    Spotless serene home, attentive staff

I moved my father here and am very satisfied overall. The home is spotless and serene with plenty of natural light and a lovely patio; meals are beautifully prepared and healthy. Caregivers and the director are kind, professional and consistent, communication is strong, the owner is available, and they even provide complimentary transportation - I have real peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in the reviews of Miko Inn is strongly positive, with reviewers repeatedly highlighting high-quality, attentive caregiving and a warm, home-like atmosphere. Care quality is presented as reliable and respectful: staff are described as caring, responsive, and professional, with consistent caregivers and long-term employees that create continuity for residents. Multiple comments emphasize that the presence and availability of the on-site owner and a kind director contribute to timely responses and a sense of accountability. Families report peace of mind that their loved ones are well cared for and that staff follow up promptly on issues.

The facility itself receives frequent praise for cleanliness and a well-maintained environment. Descriptions such as "spotless," "very clean," and "clean and organized" recur across reviews. Physical attributes that reviewers appreciate include plenty of natural light, pleasant indoor surroundings, and outdoor features like a serene backyard garden and a nice back patio. The setting is consistently described as non-institutional and home-like, which many reviewers see as a major advantage over larger facilities. That smaller-scale, residential feel is tied to a sense of family — reviewers say they felt comfortable discussing needs with staff and that the environment encourages personalized attention.

Miko Inn is also noted for dementia-friendly care and for actively involving families in communication and decision-making. Reviewers mention helpful caregivers who provide encouragement and maintain open communication with family members. Dining is positively framed: food quality and healthy options are singled out as a strength. Additional practical amenities such as complimentary transportation and on-site staff presence are cited as conveniences that enhance the overall experience.

Despite overwhelmingly positive comments, reviewers note a few trade-offs associated with the facility's small, bed-and-board model. The "dorm/shared-house vibe" and the inherent limitations of a small bed-and-board setup are called out as potential disadvantages; some prospective residents or families might prefer the resources, scale, or formality of a larger institutional setting. Reviews also hint that vacancies can be uncommon — one comment referenced being "fortunate" to find an opening — suggesting limited capacity which could affect availability for new residents.

In sum, Miko Inn is portrayed as a clean, caring, and family-oriented small facility that offers attentive, dementia-aware care and strong communication with families. Its strengths are concentrated in staff quality, a home-like environment, and thoughtful amenities. The main considerations for prospective families are the trade-offs that come with a smaller bed-and-board setting: a less institutional (more shared-house) atmosphere and potentially limited availability. For families prioritizing personalized attention, consistent caregivers, and a non-institutional feel, reviewers overwhelmingly recommend Miko Inn; for those who require the scale or services of a larger facility, the small-house model may be less suitable.

    About Miko Inn

MIKO INN in Los Angeles is a small, family-oriented residential care home that's been caring for seniors since 1990, and the Palisades Villa facility was built to feel like a real home away from home, with a calm and quiet atmosphere for up to six residents. The home stands in a regular neighborhood near hospitals, doctors, and popular places around the city, so help is close by if needed, and people don't feel far from life. The staff are fully trained, tenderhearted, and provide round-the-clock help with bathing, dressing, moving about, medication, and all the little everyday things seniors need, with nurses on site to help with health needs, and caregivers doing laundry, keeping the place tidy, cooking meals with special diets like diabetes or allergy-friendly food, and making sure people have company during meals in the dining room. Residents can bring their own furniture and decorate their rooms, and every room has a phone, plus community TV rooms, movie nights, a craft room for games and cards, and music classes are offered for those who like to sing or listen.

The garden out back and walking paths outside let residents spend time outdoors, and there are both on-site and off-site activities, scheduled events, community guests, and transportation around Los Angeles for appointments or outings, with parking for those who need it. Pets are welcome, and there's a no-smoking rule inside both private and public areas, which many appreciate. MIKO INN offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, home care, and hospice services, plus short-term respite care for those needing a break or recovery time. The staff help with housekeeping, laundry, and medication, and they coordinate with doctors and others, making sure each person's care is tailored and personal. Safety stays a priority with emergency alert systems, and the place always feels steady and peaceful, so people value the familiar, home-like setting. MIKO INN is licensed as a Residential Care Facility for the Elderly (License #191601239), and the high standards of care, expert guidance from Family Advisors, and a long history mean families can trust their loved ones will stay comfortable, safe, and respected here among a small group of peers.
