    Warm attentive small home care

I placed my loved one here for long-term care and have been very pleased. The small, intimate home is clean, inviting and smells like home cooking; common areas and lounge chairs are comfortable and easy to relax in. The caregivers are loving, professional and attentive-personalized care, medication refills, hairdressing, patio lunches and daily progress updates are all handled reliably. Communication is outstanding and the staff truly go the extra mile; overall I feel my family member is safe, happy and well cared for and I would recommend this warm, organized community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility is described as a small, home-like community that emphasizes personalized, long-term care. Reviewers emphasize compassionate, professionally trained staff who provide attentive day-to-day care and frequent communication with families. Continuity of care and stability for residents staying long term are recurring themes, and several accounts note strong clinical practices such as timely medication refills and safe transfer equipment.

Care and staff: Care quality is characterized as attentive and professional. Multiple comments highlight staff who are caring, dedicated, knowledgeable, and willing to "go the extra mile," creating a warm, family-like nursing environment. Communication with families is frequently described as clear and regular, with daily progress updates and proactive outreach. At the same time, there are isolated notes about language barriers that can affect communication for non-primary-language families; prospective residents with such needs should confirm language accommodations during intake.

Dining and personal services: The dining experience and personal services receive positive mention. Reviewers describe home-cooked meals, pleasant dining (including outdoor patio lunches when available), and on-site personal-care services such as hairdressing. Food quality and mealtime atmosphere are framed as part of the facility's home-like character.

Activities and social engagement: The community offers group activities for residents who can actively participate, and the smaller size supports personalized engagement. However, activity programming appears to be less accessible to residents with higher dependency or advanced cognitive/medical conditions; families noted instances where certain residents were not included in group activities because of their condition. Prospective residents and families should ask how the facility adapts programming for reduced-mobility or higher-care residents and what individualized engagement looks like.

Facilities and environment: The physical environment is consistently described as clean, well-maintained, and inviting, with comfortable lounges and appropriate mobility aids (for example, safe lifts). Reviewers contrast it favorably with larger or previous facilities. One repeated desire is for improved outdoor/sunlight amenities; available patio space is appreciated but some families would like more dedicated outdoor access.

Management and value: The facility is portrayed as offering good value, with transparent assessment and move-in practices. Staff professionalism and frequent family updates suggest active management involvement in care coordination. Where concerns appear, they are operational in nature (communication accommodations and activity inclusion) rather than clinical-quality complaints.

Bottom line: Genesis Manor appears well suited to families seeking an intimate, home-like setting with attentive, professional staff and stable long-term care. Before committing, families should inquire specifically about activity adaptation for residents with higher care needs and confirm language-support options and outdoor-access arrangements to ensure those elements meet their expectations.

    About Genesis Manor

Genesis Manor sits about two and a half miles from Rancho Cucamonga, California, in a quiet residential neighborhood with the look and feel of a regular home and the sounds of children playing outside, families walking, and neighbors gardening, and you can even see mountain views from the Spanish-style houses. This family-run business has operated since 1999 and carries a license from the State of California, License #366402896. The facility's designed for up to six residents in each house, which keeps things small and personal, so everyone knows each other, and caregivers can focus on daily needs. Residents pick from furnished studio, single, and two-bedroom layouts, including private or shared bedrooms. People bring their own photos, decorations, favorite chairs, and even pets, making their rooms more like home.

Genesis Manor's services cover assisted living, memory care for dementia or Alzheimer's, skilled nursing, independent living, board and care, respite for short-term stays, and hospice for those needing end-of-life care, all in single-story homes with safety features like handrails and sprinkler systems. The care team helps with bathing, dressing, grooming, medication, transfers, hygiene, exercise, laundry, and household chores. Meals are cooked fresh and tailored for dietary needs like diabetes or allergies, and there are dining rooms for shared meals. The staff coordinates doctors' appointments, medical visits, and podiatry, and arranges transportation for errands, medical sessions, or trips to religious activities.

Amenities include a reading room, hot tub, sauna, fitness center, salon/barbershop, recreation spaces inside and out, a game and activities room, walking paths, and gardens. The homes offer WiFi and cable, emergency systems, accessible design, parking for visitors, and housekeeping and linen services. Residents have access to activities every day, like art classes, movies, music therapy, board games, pet therapy, and relaxation in the garden. Some programs focus on health and wellness, education, and social time. There's even a program help with the Assisted Living Waiver Medi-Cal Program and information for Veteran's Benefits. Residents often get to see fresh flowers on the tables, kids outside, and smell home-cooked meals, helping keep the feeling down-to-earth and familiar.

Genesis Manor serves people with a wide variety of health conditions, including dementia, Alzheimer's, COPD, Parkinson's, heart disease, diabetes, and strokes, and the care plans always focus on what each person likes and needs most, all with 24-hour supervision and coordinated medical care from outside providers when needed. Semi-private rooms start at $4,300 a month, and private rooms start at $4,600, with insurance options and move-in help available. Across all locations in the foothills of La Verne, Claremont, and Alta Loma, Genesis Manor stays focused on keeping things simple, comfortable, and personal for every resident, and it's earned a good community rating of 9.3 out of 10.
