    Clean, comfortable facility with extras

I'm very pleased with this facility - clean, tidy, and comfortable with thoughtful extras and a caring, patient staff led by owner Linda. It's a good choice if your loved one doesn't need heavy assistance: caregivers kept me updated, there's a bed-to-chair lift, a large living-room TV, and activities like jewelry-making my mom loves. Meals look and smell incredible and the place feels manageable and good value.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment from the reviews of Chloie's Cottage II is positive with several consistent strengths: attentive management, a friendly caregiving team, and a clean, comfortable environment. Multiple reviewers specifically praised the owner, Linda, and noted that their loved ones "like it there." Caregivers are repeatedly described as friendly, kind, and patient, and family members appreciated being kept updated on their relative's condition. Small, thoughtful touches that make the residence feel comfortable were noted and contribute to a welcoming atmosphere.

Care quality and suitability: Reviewers indicate that care is appropriate for residents who do not require extensive assistance. The presence of a lift for bed-to-chair transfers is a practical benefit for mobility support, but comments emphasize that the home is "ok for someone not requiring a lot of assistance." This suggests the facility is best suited for individuals with lower to moderate care needs rather than high-dependency residents. Families described the level of care as manageable and acceptable for the cost, reinforcing that the facility fills a mid-range niche in terms of support level.

Staff and management: Management and staff communications are a clear strength. The owner received direct praise, and caregivers were noted for kindness and patience. Families valued receiving updates about their loved one’s condition, which points to good communication practices. These interpersonal strengths appear to be a defining feature of the home and a major reason families feel comfortable placing relatives there.

Facilities and environment: The physical environment is repeatedly described as clean and tidy, with extra touches that make the space comfortable and homelike. Amenities mentioned include a large wall-mounted TV in the living room and a lift to assist certain transfers. Overall, reviewers portray the facility as well-kept and appropriately equipped for routine daily living needs.

Dining: Feedback on dining is mixed and highlights a notable inconsistency. Several reviewers said meals "look and smell incredible," indicating appealing presentation and appetizing food at times. However, there are also concerns that meals are processed and not cooked from scratch, and a separate comment explicitly stated that meals "could be better." This split suggests that while presentation and some meals are praised, there is room to improve meal quality and freshness to meet all families’ expectations.

Activities and engagement: Activity programming emerges as an area for improvement. Multiple reviews asked for more activities and described the activity offerings as few. That said, when activities are offered they can be meaningful and successful: one reviewer reported that jewelry making was introduced, that the resident loved it, and that a bracelet was made. This indicates an appetite for more frequent, varied, and resident-centered activities—small, well-executed programs are appreciated and could be expanded.

Cost and value: Reviewers generally feel the facility is "ok for the cost" and "manageable," suggesting perceived value aligns with price point. The positive notes about staff, cleanliness, and communication support this sense of reasonable value, but the mixed dining feedback and limited activities slightly temper the overall value proposition.

Patterns and recommendations implied by reviews: The dominant patterns are strong, personal caregiving and a clean, comfortable environment coupled with limited programming and uneven meal quality. If these reviews reflect broader trends, Chloie's Cottage II’s competitive advantages are its attentive owner-led management, compassionate staff, and homelike atmosphere. The clearest opportunities for improvement are expanding activities to engage residents more regularly and enhancing meal preparation to reduce reliance on processed items or to increase the frequency of freshly cooked options. For prospective families, the facility appears well-suited for residents with low-to-moderate care needs who prioritize a warm, communicative staff and a tidy, comfortable living space; families requiring high-dependency care should evaluate whether the level of clinical support meets their needs.

    About Chloie's Cottage II

Chloie's Cottage II sits in San Dimas, CA, and has a small, close-knit feel with only six residents in each home, and it's licensed by the state as a residential care facility for the elderly since 2007. The home has both private and semi-private rooms, all furnished and set up for comfort and safety, with wheelchair accessible showers, grab bars, and roll-in showers so residents can get around easily. There are lush gardens outside, walking paths, and a deck with views of the mountains, and inside, you'll find a large TV in the living room, central heating and air, cable, and Wi-Fi. They provide daily meals that are home-cooked and tailored for any special health needs, like diabetic diets or allergy restrictions, plus snacks throughout the day, and offer both vegetarian options and regular meals in the dining area where everyone eats together.

Residents get 24-hour supervision, and the staff is always ready to help with daily tasks like bathing, dressing, transfers, and medication management, and they use lifts to help move people from beds to chairs if needed. The team can also help coordinate with outside healthcare providers for appointments and treatments, making sure transportation is handled-sometimes using buses with wheelchair lifts for easier trips. There's non-ambulatory care, incontinence care, memory care for folks with Alzheimer's or other types of dementia, and help for people who need high-acuity care, including diabetics and those with serious mobility issues.

Chloie's Cottage II might be small, but they run plenty of activities-movie nights, live music, devotional time, trips out to gardens or art exhibits, birthday parties, and recreational programs-so people can stay busy, make friends, or just enjoy themselves. There are indoor and outdoor areas for social time, plus a garden to walk in or relax. Pets like cats and dogs are allowed, and the team will help with pet care if someone needs it. The home's been designed to feel warm and welcoming, giving residents enough space to be themselves and offering as much independence as possible. Everything's set up to protect privacy and dignity, with motion sensors and alarmed exits for security.

Housekeeping, laundry, and dry cleaning are provided, and staff keep photos and room information available for residents and families. The manager is Nick Vermani, and Iren is listed as the assistant. Chloie's Cottage II always works to maintain good relationships between residents, families, and caregivers, focusing on help without making anyone feel overwhelmed. The published price ranges for both private and semi-private rooms are available, and they're open about amenities and care listed on their website. The place gets good marks from residents and families, with a 4.5-star rating, and stays connected with local hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies for those who need regular healthcare. With a homelike atmosphere, it brings a simple and caring environment where people can feel safe and comfortable each day.
