    Warm, caring, clean, comfortable facility

I placed my parent here and have been very satisfied - the staff are warm, caring and family-like, with responsive management and strong medical support. The facility is clean, comfortable and well run, with bright, roomy apartments (many with balconies), nice outdoor space, safety features like personal call fobs, and a convenient location. Meals are excellent (three a day, delivered if needed) and activities - ice cream socials, bingo, exercise and more - keep residents engaged.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviewers describe Villa Fontana as a community with a warm, family-run feel and a clearly resident-focused culture. Strengths repeatedly noted include caring, engaged staff and a well-regarded nursing team; the campus offers assisted living and memory-care services and many families characterized the caregiving as attentive and responsive. The community is active, with a variety of social and cognitive programs that contribute to an upbeat atmosphere.

Care and clinical services: Clinical care is frequently highlighted as a strong point. Families and residents noted regular vital-sign checks and capable medical staff, and the nursing home/more clinically oriented unit received particularly high marks. At the same time, reviewers indicate that the facility is better suited to residents with mild-to-moderate care needs; capacity and infrastructure for residents with higher levels of physical dependency are limited compared with higher-acuity settings.

Staff and management: Staff interaction and the facility’s management style are described positively overall. Many reviewers emphasized friendly, helpful staff and visible, involved leadership; the family-owned model is seen as a source of flexibility and personal attention. There are occasional comments about variability in day-to-day staff responsiveness—reviews describe 'rough days' at times—which suggests staffing patterns can fluctuate and families should discuss staffing ratios and coverage during a tour.

Dining and amenities: Dining is a consistent positive: three meals per day, a pleasant dining room, and the option to have meals delivered to rooms when needed. Food quality and portion sizes were generally acceptable to reviewers. Amenity-wise, the community offers activities spaces, a library, and specialty events (ice-cream socials, karaoke, holiday celebrations). Reviewers also noted that amenity access was impacted by pandemic-related limitations at times, indicating that some offerings may be susceptible to external restrictions.

Activities and social life: The activity program is a clear strength, with regular group exercises, outings, games such as bingo and Wheel of Fortune, arts and crafts, music, and cognitive programs. Reviewers consistently describe the community as busy and socially engaging, with many opportunities for residents to participate in structured and informal activities.

Facility and apartments: The property is described as clean and odor-free, with pleasant common areas and outdoor space. However, the physical plant is older in places: several reviewers described dated finishes or smaller, closed-in studio units, while others praised larger, bright one-bedroom apartments with balconies—availability and size vary by unit. Some parts of the facility have been renovated and updated, improving the overall presentation.

Cost and contract transparency: Pricing sits in the upper-medium range; some families found larger apartments expensive or unaffordable. There are consistent comments about add-on fees and a need for clearer pricing transparency. Prospective residents should request detailed fee schedules and written explanations of what is included versus optional add-ons.

Notable patterns and practical advice: Villa Fontana earns strong marks for staff warmth, nursing quality, and an active program of social and cognitive activities. Trade-offs include an older building in places, variability in unit size and layout, and limitations for residents with high physical-dependency needs. Visitors should prioritize an in-person tour to compare specific apartment types, confirm current amenity availability, review staffing patterns, and obtain a detailed pricing breakdown before committing.
