    Excellent rehab care, supportive staff

I had a rehab stay and was very pleased - the PT/OT team helped me regain strength and confidence, nurses and CNAs were kind and attentive, and administration was responsive. The facility was clean, bright and comfortable with a nice courtyard; meals were nutritious with daily variety. Overall a caring, professional team that made my recovery smooth - I'd recommend it for rehab.

    Summary of reviews

Brentwood Health Care Center is repeatedly described as a rehabilitation-focused facility with a notably strong therapy program. Physical therapy and occupational therapy receive consistent praise for producing measurable mobility and strength improvements, accommodating weekend schedules, and providing attentive, goal-directed care. Many families credited the therapy teams with accelerated recoveries and greater patient confidence after discharge.

Clinical care perceptions are mixed. Numerous reviewers described compassionate, hardworking nurses and CNAs who provide hands-on care and exhibit a family-like attitude, while others described variability in responsiveness and professionalism—particularly on night shifts and during understaffed periods. Several reviews raised operational concerns about medication reconciliation and administration, bed-alarm and fall-prevention practices, and the need for family vigilance around medication changes and physician communication.

Dining and amenities draw varied opinions. Some families praised the food, accommodating kitchen staff, and the pleasant outdoor patio; others found meals bland or inconsistent. Housekeeping and facility upkeep are often noted as strengths—many reviewers found the center clean, orderly, and well-maintained—though a subset of comments pointed to inconsistent sanitation in shared-bathroom areas and periodic odor concerns. Parking and visiting logistics (including limited visitor time windows and constrained parking availability) were flagged as practical inconveniences.

Management and communication show a split pattern. Several administrators and front-desk staff were specifically commended for being helpful, organized, and responsive; at the same time, multiple reviewers reported gaps in care coordination, unanswered voicemails or emails, admission/discharge documentation errors, and inconsistent follow-through on complaints. A small number of serious allegations—including missing personal items and claims of theft, and concerns about delayed emergency response—appear in the feedback and are important for prospective families to evaluate directly with leadership.

Activities and the social environment are positive highlights. The facility offers regular recreational programming (bingo, puzzles, movies), volunteer involvement, and an encouraging atmosphere that many residents and families found beneficial for recovery. The presence of student nurses and teaching opportunities is sometimes framed as added attention and learning-driven care.

Overall, Brentwood's chief strengths lie in its rehabilitation services, many caring staff members, and an otherwise well-kept environment. However, the pattern of variability—in staffing levels (especially nights/weekends), medication and safety processes, communication and care coordination, and occasional sanitation and property-handling issues—suggests that prospective residents and families should weigh the strong therapy outcomes against the operational inconsistencies. Families who choose Brentwood may want a clear point of contact, active involvement in medication reconciliation, and proactive communication with management about safety, visitation, and personal-belongings protocols.
