I've been very happy here-staff are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, and I feel I get the best care possible. The coordinator and counter staff are responsive and accommodating; my furnished room is small but comfortable, the building is well-maintained, and there's lots of entertainment (they even offered hot chocolate and popcorn). I love it here and would definitely recommend it.

Summary of reviews
Reviews indicate a mixed but clear pattern: direct-care staff and front-line coordinators are generally described as attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly, and many families and residents express satisfaction with the day-to-day care and social programming. Admissions coordination and front-desk personnel receive positive comments for helpfulness and responsiveness. Resident rooms are described as furnished and generally well maintained, with some units noted as compact but adequate for a single person. The community appears to offer a variety of on-site activities and entertainment, and small hospitality touches (snacks, hot beverages) are appreciated.
At the same time, reviewers raise operational concerns that are relevant for prospective residents. The most urgent issue described is pest-control concerns affecting resident rooms, creating a need for a documented and proactive environmental-control plan. Relatedly, reviewers cite cleanliness and maintenance gaps in both resident and common areas; these items suggest inconsistencies in housekeeping and facilities upkeep that the community should address to reassure families and reduce safety risks.
Management and organizational shortcomings are another consistent theme. Comments describe weak or disorganized leadership, inconsistent follow-through on serious issues, and perceptions that administrative staff are not always taken seriously. These patterns point to governance and oversight gaps rather than isolated interpersonal problems. Staffing and resource constraints are also highlighted: reviewers note that caregiving staff ‘‘do their best’’ but that limited resources may affect response times and the scope of services.
Dining and activities appear broadly positive on offerings, but reviewers want clearer communication about meal content, schedules, and activity details. Technology and front-desk processes received mixed feedback as well — for example, an unreliable or intrusive check-in kiosk — indicating room for improvement in user experience and administrative workflows.
For families and prospective residents: balance the apparent strengths in staff warmth, individualized attention, and social programming against the operational weaknesses described. Before deciding, request documentation of pest-control and housekeeping protocols, inquire about current management stability and plans for operational improvements, ask about staffing ratios and how the community handles escalation of safety concerns, and obtain sample menus and weekly activity schedules. A focused tour that includes inspection of resident rooms and common areas, and conversations with current residents or their families, will help verify whether the facility’s operational improvements are in place and sustained.

About New Horizon Senior Living
New Horizon Senior Living sits in a quiet, well-established neighborhood with a peaceful setting and plenty of local shops around, like CVS Pharmacy, Starbucks, and In-N-Out Burger, so residents and their families find outings pretty easy, and you'll see a map location showing exactly where it is, plus a photo gallery that helps to get a sense of the place and what's offered inside. The facility holds a license from the state of California as a Residential Care Elderly community, known on paper as a provider for Assisted Living Waiver Program (ALW), and the license number is 306000502, which means it can care for up to 120 individuals.
The care team includes certified nursing assistants, med tech support, and a friendly staff that people often mention as helpful and joyful. Residents get 12 to 16 hours of nursing support as well as a 24-hour call system so someone's always there when needed, and there's 24-hour supervision for everyone living there, whether they need help with bathing, dressing, medication, or other daily routines. Services cover home health care, assisted living, memory care, nursing home services, independent living, and even long-term care, with different care levels to fit what each person really needs. New Horizon also accepts the ALW program that helps make affordable housing and necessary health services possible for seniors on Medi-Cal.
The building has indoor common spaces for activities, and daily life enrichment is a big part of the schedule, with devotional events, group exercises, games, library time, and offsite trips that help residents stay connected and engaged. Residents make use of property features like a game room, fitness center, and a library, and get nutritious meals cooked to support a balanced diet with fresh and quality ingredients. Rooms are spacious, with air conditioning and phones, and can come furnished if needed, though that comes with its own fee. Laundry and housekeeping services run weekly. There's a focus on medication management and careful individual care plans, so every resident gets monitoring that fits their specific health and comfort needs.
Community-operated transportation's available, and there's free parking, making it simple for families to visit or get around. The grounds connect to nearby parks for outdoor activities and offer a calm atmosphere for peaceful afternoons. Staff offer support for non-ambulatory, diabetic, and incontinent residents, and there's a structured way to assess how much care someone may need as their needs change. Job opportunities exist for caregiving and med tech roles as well. New Horizon Senior Living offers a referral program for those interested. The goal of the staff and the mission of the community is to provide good service and attention in an environment that's clean, safe, and as comfortable as possible for everyone living there.
