    Patient, compassionate, spotless home-like care

I placed my grandfather here and the transition was easy - Ken, Angelica, and the caring staff are patient, compassionate, and truly go above and beyond. He looks and sleeps better, gets regular baths, fresh clothes, and delicious home-cooked meals made from scratch; the small, spotless facility feels like a warm, spiritual home with a lovely backyard. I'm very pleased with the attentive, professional caregivers and recommend visiting with Ken and Angelica.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment: Reviews for Angelica's Home are overwhelmingly positive, emphasizing excellent hands-on care, a warm home-like environment, and personalized attention from a small, compassionate team. Multiple reviewers highlight the facility as a sanctuary where residents transition easily, feel safer and more peaceful, and show visible improvements in mood, grooming, and rest.

Care quality and staff: The most consistent theme is the high caliber of caregiving. Reviewers repeatedly describe caregivers as kind, loving, patient, dedicated, and well-trained. Staff are credited with going above and beyond routine tasks, providing TLC, timely responses, and emotionally supportive interactions. Owners and on-site managers (specifically named Ken and Angelica) are singled out for thoughtful engagement, clear communication, and hands-on leadership. Reports note that personal care is excellent—residents receive regular baths, attentive daily checks, help with dressing and grooming, and safe transfer assistance. Several reviews describe residents looking healthier and happier (fresh clothes, big smiles, better night's rest), suggesting strong outcomes from the care provided.

Facility, cleanliness, and environment: Angelica's Home is described as a small, beautiful board-and-care with spacious rooms, consistently clean conditions, and no unpleasant odors. The small census contributes to a family-like atmosphere and frequent personal attention. The grounds and outdoor space are also praised—backyard patios, planters, and pleasant views create a peaceful, homelike setting. Multiple reviewers used words like 'sanctuary' and 'home-like' to describe the environment, reinforcing the sense of a warm, welcoming place rather than an institutional setting.

Dining and amenities: Dining is highlighted as a clear strength: meals are described as home-cooked, prepared from scratch with fresh ingredients, and sometimes made from family recipes. Reviewers mention tasty and varied dinner choices and appreciate grooming services such as hair and nails. These amenities are linked with overall resident wellbeing and satisfaction—nourishing food and grooming contribute to the positive transitions and improved appearance of residents.

Operations and safety: Beyond hands-on care, reviewers note professional practices such as safe transfers, modern technology, and prompt response to issues. Communication with families is praised, with caregivers providing updates that reassure loved ones. The combination of clinical attentiveness and emotional support appears to be a consistent pattern—residents feel safe, families feel informed, and staff demonstrate competence alongside warmth.

Activity programming and resident engagement: One recurring concern is limited engagement in activities, attributed by reviewers to an older population that is not interested in or able to participate. This suggests that while the facility excels at personal care and comfort, activity programming may not be a strong focus or may not match the preferences/abilities of the current resident mix. Families seeking highly active social or recreational programming may find this aspect less robust.

Cost considerations: Another clear pattern is that Angelica's Home is perceived as expensive. Multiple summaries explicitly describe the facility as 'very expensive.' While many reviewers feel the quality justifies the price—citing exceptional care, individualized attention, and a welcoming atmosphere—cost remains a potential barrier or consideration for prospective families.

Notable patterns and final assessment: Repeated mention of specific staff (Ken and Angelica), small census, home-cooked meals, and visible positive outcomes for residents (peacefulness, better rest, improved grooming) indicates a consistent and reliable level of service. The primary trade-offs noted across reviews are higher cost and limited activity engagement for residents who desire more programming. For families seeking a small, clean, and compassionate board-and-care with strong personal attention and high-touch caregiving, Angelica's Home receives strong recommendations. Prospective families should weigh the premium pricing against the clear strengths in individualized care and the quieter, less-activity-focused resident community.

    About Angelica's Home

Angelica's Home sits quietly in Temecula, California, on beautiful gated grounds covered with flowers, with a patio to watch hot air balloons float over the Temecula Valley, and you'll find that it's a Christ-centered elder care home run by Ken and Angelica Oosting, who have been running group homes since 1998 and who focus on treating each resident with kindness, humility, patience, and compassion, taking care to guard every person's dignity and pride. The home has a peaceful, inviting setting, where you'll see private and semi-private rooms, some furnished, all with safety and handicap features, kitchens or kitchenettes, washers and dryers, cable TV, wireless internet, hand wash sinks suited for wheelchairs, and a sprinkler system throughout for safety. There are special areas set aside for games and group activities, arts and crafts, and you'll see a dining room where residents enjoy home-cooked meals made from family recipes, three nutritious meals a day plus snacks and drinks anytime, and the staff tries to make sure to accommodate special diets, like for allergies or diabetes.

You'll see they have a full range of care, offering Assisted Living under the name Assisted Living, Independent Living, Memory Care, and a Nursing Home alternative, and they do focus on residents with high-level care needs, like those needing post-fall, post-stroke, or special needs care, including cancer and after-surgery recovery, Alzheimer's, hospice for short- and long-term stays, and respite care. The home is fully wheelchair accessible, with safety rails and a wireless emergency pendant, and residents get 24-hour supervision with staff awake at night including a nurse, so there's always help for transfers, bathing, dressing, grooming, walking or wheelchair assistance, toileting, and incontinence supplies. Every person gets a detailed care plan, with scheduled consultations and the help of a personal care manager, so needs are checked regularly, and there's medication management, wound care, pain control, podiatry, RN and doctor visits, and support with medical equipment if needed. Therapies are available, too, with skilled nursing, occupational and physical therapy, massage therapy, plus a salon for hair and grooming, and there are services like laundry, dry cleaning, and housekeeping.

Residents enjoy amenities like a fitness center, game rooms, guest parking, WiFi, organized movie nights and community events, and there are both group and individual activities, family day gatherings, spiritual care, and programs meant to stimulate the senses and encourage social connections and companionship. The setting is calm, low-stimulus, and supportive, with supervision and safety features to help those with memory care needs, including supervision to prevent wandering. The grounds are pretty, with a backyard and places to sit and enjoy the view, and animals are allowed for those who want pets. The home handles move-in coordination, offers transportation, and helps with things like surgery recovery or injury care.

This is a place that accepts private payments along with social security, pensions, VA benefits, and long-term care insurance, and all services are licensed and regulated by the State of California. There's no mention of awards or fancy ratings here, but you'll see all the usual comforts of a residential care home for the elderly, with dedicated staff, a Christ-centered outlook, and clear attention to both health and wellness needs and a home-like atmosphere where each person can feel safe and respected.
