    Warm attentive home with care

I chose this home for my mom and I'm very pleased. The staff are loving, professional, and truly make it feel like family - attentive night checks, on-site caregivers, and experienced medication supervision give me peace of mind. The house is warm and immaculately clean with wood floors, water features, a large aquarium, backyard patio, fruit trees and a garden that make it feel like a comfortable, beautiful home. Personalized meals and a small caregiver-to-resident ratio exceeded my expectations.

About Thousand Oaks Home Care III

Thousand Oaks Home Care III sits at 143 West Sidlee St. in Thousand Oaks, California, and has been licensed by the state since 1996 with license number 565850189, offering a calm and home-like setting for up to six residents at a time, so there's a good amount of personal attention from staff who mostly speak English, with some caregivers clocking in over fifteen years working there, and the family running the place has been doing this for over three decades across five small homes, keeping things close-knit and familiar. It's a state-licensed residential care home offering assisted living, dementia care, memory care, independent living, and home care, so folks with different needs can get help, ranging from bathing, grooming, and showering, all the way to specialized non-ambulatory and diabetic care, help with incontinence, and advanced support like two-person transfers when needed. They've got RNs, LVNs, and CNAs who help out with healthcare needs and medication, and outside pros come in for home health services, therapy, hospice, or regular visits from doctors and podiatrists, so most medical needs can get met right there.

Residents have private rooms they can decorate as they wish, each with wheelchair access, showers, and varying views, along with features like central heat and air, sturdy handrails, and non-slip surfaces in the bathrooms to minimize falls, which is something most people worry about. The meals come fresh three times a day, with vegetarian and kosher options always possible, plus snacks, and special diets get arranged for folks with high blood pressure, diabetes, or other needs, and the staff makes sure everything stays balanced and safe for each person. There's daily housekeeping, laundry, and medication management, plus transportation for doctor visits, errands, outings, or trips to religious facilities.

The outdoor spaces have patios and landscaped yards with fruit trees and vegetable gardens, so people can go outside, relax, or get their hands in the dirt if they like gardening, and pets like dogs and cats are allowed, provided everyone gets along. Inside, there's a book room, a hot tub, sauna, parlor or hair salon, and regular planned activities including fitness, board games, art, movie nights, music plans, and therapy programs that often include music and pets. Folks can socialize in group events and seasonal celebrations or step into the wellness program with scheduled exercise and entertainment like board games or outdoor trips, and there's always attention to personal care, from clothing changes to hygiene.

Short-term or respite stays are welcome, so caregivers can get a break, and the staff keeps close watch at all hours in case anybody needs help overnight, with lots of check-ins and a high ratio of caregivers to residents. They offer personalized care plans, developed alongside each resident's family, so everyone's needs and wants get heard. Veterans can access VA benefits and aides, and lots of those extra services come right to residents, such as therapy sessions, so people don't have to travel far or leave the home unless they want to. Safety and health are a constant focus, and families are encouraged to visit often, so people can age with dignity in a friendly, familiar environment with support that feels steady and reliable.
