    Resident praises compassionate, attentive care

I've lived here four years and would gladly recommend this community. The staff are kind, attentive and genuinely treat residents like family - they anticipated needs, managed a smooth Memory Care transition, handled the COVID move compassionately, and provided strong end-of-life support. Communication is consistent, activities are engaging, the food has improved, and I feel safe, cared for, and grateful for the wonderful team.

    Summary of reviews

MorningStar Assisted Living & Memory Care at Jordan presents a mixed but largely constructive picture. The facility's strongest and most consistent assets are its caregiving culture and social programming. Many families describe staff as warm, compassionate and resident‑focused; caregivers and the wellness team are frequently credited with creating a home‑like atmosphere and strong resident relationships. Memory‑care programming and end‑of‑life support receive multiple favorable mentions, and the community is noted for responsive bedside care and medication management when clinical staffing is present.

Activities and social life are clear strengths. The community offers a wide range of scheduled activities (bingo, happy hour, cards, trivia, movies, weekly shopping trips, religious services) and regular outings and performers, which families report as promoting engagement and quality of life. Life‑enrichment programming and a small‑community feel are repeatedly cited as contributors to resident satisfaction. Onsite amenities such as a courtyard, chapel, activity room, physical‑therapy space and varied apartment floorplans support social and rehabilitative needs.

Dining and facilities show variable experiences. Several accounts praise recent improvements under a new chef, including scratch‑cooked meals and improved menu variety; others cite inconsistent meal temperature and occasional declines in meal service quality. The building itself is described as modern, clean, and well‑maintained with a variety of room options and convenient location. At the same time, a number of families described housekeeping lapses and odor or sanitation concerns in certain areas, indicating inconsistent execution of environmental services.

Operationally, two recurring issues emerge: staffing and administrative communication. Multiple comments point to periods of understaffing or overworked caregivers, delays responding to call buttons, and variability in nursing coverage. Administrative consistency is another theme—there has been notable management turnover in recent years, and while new leadership and an engaged executive director receive positive mention, families also described lapses in communication, billing transparency, and insufficient follow‑up after critical incidents. Reports also include isolated problems with handling personal property and coordination with outside clinical partners.

Overall, MorningStar at Jordan is characterized by strong person‑centered caregiving, engaging programming, and an improving dining and leadership profile. Prospective residents and families who prioritize a warm, activity‑focused environment and a modern building are likely to find the community appealing. Those evaluating placement should proactively assess current staffing levels, administrative communication practices, housekeeping schedules, property‑management procedures, and accommodations for sensory or accessibility needs during a tour to ensure operational reliability matches the facility's strengths.
