    Small caring clean home-like facility

I'm very happy with this small, home-like facility - the staff are superb, knowledgeable, caring and QMAP-certified. My mother loved the wonderful home-cooked meals, felt safe, clean and entertained, and gained a real sense of belonging. The owner and team are transparent, cooperative and quick to address concerns; rooms (single and double) are clean and secure, and payment flexibility met our expectations.

    Summary of reviews

Reviews of Ashley Manor Evans 1 show a pronounced split between families who describe a warm, home-like setting with attentive caregivers and those who raise operational and safety concerns. Positive accounts emphasize a small, familial atmosphere, engaged ownership, and staff who are described as respectful and compassionate. Several families highlighted home-cooked meals, clean living spaces, active family engagement, and positive experiences with memory-care interactions. Payment flexibility (private pay to Medicaid) and the availability of single and double rooms were also noted as practical advantages.

At the same time, a number of reviews identify recurring operational weaknesses that warrant attention. Staffing emerged as a central issue: reviewers described chronic understaffing, extended or double shifts, and staff spread thin, which reviewers associate with reduced responsiveness and limited one-on-one attention. Related to staffing are concerns about hiring and training processes; reviewers raised questions about vetting practices and consistency of clinical competencies. Medication management is another salient concern, with reviewers pointing to gaps in medication-administration controls, auditing, and inconsistent presence of QMAP-trained personnel. These issues suggest variability in clinical oversight and record-keeping.

Safety, maintenance, and security patterns also appear inconsistent across accounts. While some families found the environment clean and secure, others described maintenance and sanitation inconsistencies, physical hazards in resident areas, and lapses in visitor/entry controls. Reviewers expressed concern about how behavioral risks and visitor access are managed, indicating that safety and security protocols may not be uniformly enforced. Privacy and dignity safeguards were reported as unevenly applied in some instances.

Dining and programming receive mixed evaluations. Several reviewers praised home-style meals and attentive dining staff, yet others noted limited menu variety and inconsistent meal quality. Activity offerings are similarly mixed: some residents experienced engaging visits and stimulation, while other accounts describe insufficient programming and limited opportunities for physical activity and social engagement.

Management impressions are split: some families describe transparent, cooperative leadership that responds quickly to care concerns, while others report a lack of support from administration and inconsistent leadership practices. This variability contributes to an overall sense that care quality and operational reliability may depend heavily on timing, specific staff on duty, and the expectations of individual families.

For prospective residents and families, the pattern suggests clear strengths in the facility’s ability to provide a warm, small-home environment when staffing and management are working effectively. At the same time, the recurring operational themes—staffing levels, medication controls, hiring/vetting practices, maintenance and safety protocols, and consistency of activities and dining—are areas to verify during a tour. Recommended clarifications include current staffing ratios and schedules, medication administration procedures and auditing, presence of QMAP-certified staff, background-check and hiring policies, sample activity schedules, and recent maintenance logs or inspection records.

    About Ashley Manor Evans 1

Ashley Manor Evans 1 stays open all day, every day, and helps seniors who need different levels of care, whether they're looking for independent living, assisted living, memory care, or home care. The building has small, home-like residences set up so people feel comfortable, with indoor spaces where residents can spend time together, and private or shared suites for privacy. Residents can age in place, getting more help as their needs change over time, and the staff handles everything from basic daily help like bathing and dressing to more complicated needs like diabetic care, managing medications, oxygen support, and even transfers for those who need extra hands. They're able to help with incontinence issues, use mechanical lifts, and offer both one-person and two-person assisted transfers.

Ashley Manor Evans 1 has long-term care, hospice care supported by Auburn Crest, respite care for short stays, and home health visits when needed. Trained staff are available 24 hours a day, with nurses on call, and they can take care of residents with memory loss or dementia, including those who might try to leave or show difficult behaviors. Memory care here includes therapies like aroma therapy, music, light, reminiscing, or hydration, plus the building is set up to cut down on confusion, using memory boxes outside the rooms and circular walking paths. There are secured backyards with quiet walking paths, patios, and high-tech alarm systems, all designed to keep the place safe while helping people stay active.

The community cooks three balanced meals a day with snacks, and can make special diets as needed. Housekeeping, laundry, and linen services are included, and there's an onsite beautician for haircuts or grooming. For staying engaged, there are activities that fit seniors with Alzheimer's or dementia, plus other social, physical, and devotional options, with devotional services held off the property. The staff is known for being kind and helpful, and they get special training to make sure care fits the person, whether someone needs just a little help or more support. Families can count on staff to be careful with medication, keep an eye on blood sugar, and work with doctors, even for hospice and dementia waivers. Everything's wheelchair accessible, and care extends to helping residents avoid falls and stay clean, cared for, and comfortable. Ashley Manor Evans 1 tries to keep things simple and respectful so residents feel at home, using natural daylight to help sleep and manage moods, and choosing activities and therapies that bring comfort or spark good memories.
