    Peaceful, caring staff; occasional drawbacks

I chose this community for the peaceful, hotel-like setting and river/mountain views - spotless, well-decorated rooms, lush lawns and a safe, comfortable feel that truly feels like home. The staff are warm, caring and highly trained; they manage medications well, run dementia-friendly activities, live music at lunch, tailored meals with a dietitian and genuinely go above and beyond. My only caveats are noticeable staff turnover, some budget-driven limits (occasional dining/convenience issues) and cost, but overall I'm very pleased and would recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the submitted reviews for Creekside Assisted Living LLC is strongly positive. The dominant themes are high-quality, compassionate care and a warm, family-like culture provided by a well-trained and attentive staff. Multiple reviewers explicitly praised staff members by name (Courtney, Danielle, Kimmy, Evelyn, Monica), which supports a pattern of individualized attention and staff who form meaningful relationships with residents. Reviewers consistently describe staff as caring, validating, and knowledgeable, and several comments emphasize that staff “go above and beyond,” suggesting strong resident-focused service and responsiveness.

Clinical and safety-related aspects receive consistent praise. Reviews mention effective medication management and a comfortable, safe environment appropriate for residents with cognitive needs — with specific references to dementia-friendly activities. Several reviewers noted that care at Creekside improved mobility, mood, and daily activity levels (increased walking and engagement), indicating that programming and staffing support both physical and emotional well-being. There are also comments thanking staff for compassionate support during the final phase of life, which points to competency and sensitivity in end-of-life care.

The activity and social life at Creekside is highlighted as a notable strength. Residents and families report a wide variety of scheduled events and entertainment — examples include staff visits for games like dominos, live music in the dining room during lunch, and other fun events that foster engagement. Mealtime is repeatedly described as a social and companionship-building time; reviewers mention making friends, having meaningful conversations over meals, and enjoying an active communal atmosphere. This emphasis on social programming appears to contribute to improved mood and a sense of belonging among residents.

Dining and nutrition receive strong positive comments. Reviewers describe the food as outstanding, with meals tailored to residents’ preferences and the availability of a dietitian to oversee or customize menus. The combination of high-quality food, individualized choices, and communal dining contributes to resident satisfaction and the overall feeling that the community treats residents like family.

Facility quality and location are frequently praised. Creekside is described as a newer, well-maintained, and spotless community with hotel-like décor that avoids an institutional feel. Reviewers point to spacious room sizes, river- and mountain-view studios, lush green lawns, and an outdoor dining deck as distinguishing physical features. The facility’s aesthetics and cleanliness, coupled with the peaceful environment, help many families feel the move was the right decision and that the community truly feels like home.

Management and transition experiences are portrayed positively. Reviewers report easy transitions into the community and supportive management. The combination of attentive leadership and practical services (medication oversight, dietitian, activities programming) is credited with making both residents and families comfortable and satisfied.

Notable concerns are limited but present. A small number of reviewers raised cost as an issue — “too expensive” — which may be an important consideration for prospective residents weighing value against price. There is one isolated, strongly negative remark describing the facility as an “awful eyesore” that causes daily traffic backups; this opinion stands in contrast to the overwhelming majority of positive observations and appears to be an outlier focused on external impact rather than care quality. Overall, critical feedback is sparse, so prospective residents may want to ask targeted questions about pricing, transportation/traffic at peak times, and any other operational details important to their situation.

In summary, the reviews depict Creekside Assisted Living LLC as a high-quality assisted living community with exceptional staff, strong clinical and emotional support, vibrant social programming, excellent dining, and attractive, well-maintained facilities. Most reviewers highly recommend the community and emphasize that it feels like home. The principal caveats to explore further are cost and a single external-appearance/traffic complaint; otherwise, the pattern of feedback is uniformly positive and emphasizes compassionate, resident-centered care.

    About Creekside Assisted Living

Creekside Assisted Living sits in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, tucked away in a quiet mountain spot next to a creek, right in the "banana belt" of Western Colorado where the deer and elk sometimes wander through the yard, and anyone living there will notice it's peaceful, away from the busy town and traffic. This place has small, home-like buildings, and the size can fit groups from as few as 6 people up to 32, depending on the layout, with options for private or shared suites, studios, and even two-bedroom units, all of which come furnished, offer private bathrooms, and some have kitchenettes, and folks who move in will find air conditioning, cable TV, phone, and internet in their rooms.

Staff at Creekside Assisted Living are always on hand, 24 hours a day, staying awake through the night so residents can get help anytime, whether they need help to get out of bed, to move to a wheelchair, or to manage medicines, with staff able to help with checking blood sugar and insulin for those with diabetes, plus standby assistance if walking is hard, or help with feeding if someone needs it. They offer special memory care for people with Alzheimer's as well as hospice care on-site, so if health needs change residents can stay where they're comfortable. There's a 24-hour call system for emergencies, and they watch over residents carefully while still letting folks enjoy their independence.

The community has a variety of meals cooked right there with organic ingredients, and three chef-prepared meals are offered every day, with the staff able to adjust the menu for allergies or diabetes diets, and mealtime happens in the dining room with an option to eat throughout the day, if residents prefer, and there's even complimentary transportation for outings or doctor visits if needed. Housekeeping, linen, and laundry services, including dry cleaning, are all included so no one has to worry about chores, and there's maintenance-free living so nobody needs to spend time on home repairs or upkeep.

Creekside Assisted Living holds events and activities inside and outside to bring residents together, encouraging movement and socializing through scheduled activities and things like movie nights, walking paths, a community garden, and indoor common areas, and it allows cats and dogs if someone wants to bring their pet along. The grounds, being right in the mountains, make the outdoor space especially nice, and it's not far to grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, pharmacies, banks, and even other senior communities like Roaring Fork Senior Living and Sopris Lodge at Carbondale.

Older adults 55 and up can move in, with payment options available and different fees depending on the kind of care and room, and there's an estimated monthly fee for a studio room at $2,500, plus other community and respite fees based on care needs, which can be checked online along with floor plans and photos. Creekside Assisted Living is licensed by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, and it even helps with move-in coordination and gives guides to people who need to figure out which care fits best, including options from assisted living, independent living, memory care, respite care, to board and care home services. Residents can enjoy living in a small, supportive, mountain setting with attentive staff, private and shared living spaces, and a simple approach that's focused on comfort and daily support.
