    Happy my mother lives here

I'm grateful my mother lives at LP@SA - the diverse floor-level options (studio or separate bedroom), open floor plan and wheelchair accessibility made it easy to move in with her own furniture. The pool room, lounge/kitchenette, activities room and weekly programs keep her engaged, and they provide three meals a day with diet-tailored options. The staff are wonderful - Lashanda is the best (smart, personable); Rashad, Bradon and Regina are all nice. Overall I'd recommend this beautiful place, with only a few small quirks.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment in these reviews for Livingston Place at Southern Avenue is predominantly positive, with multiple consistent compliments about the physical facility, dining, accessibility, and several individual staff members. Reviewers repeatedly describe the community as beautiful and note practical design features such as multiple floor-level room options, an open floor plan, wheelchair accessibility, and the ability to bring personal furniture. The community offers two apartment styles (studio and one-bedroom), which provides choice for prospective residents.

Amenities and daily life are a strong point in the reviews. The facility includes a pool room, a lounge with a kitchenette, and a dedicated activities room. Weekly activities are highlighted, indicating ongoing programming to engage residents. Dining is emphasized as reliable and accommodating: three meals a day are provided, with diet-tailored meal options reported, which suggests the community can meet individualized nutritional needs. Reviewers also explicitly say the community is "great for the needy," implying that it is equipped to serve residents with higher support needs.

Staff quality appears as a major theme with generally high praise but some important nuance. Several individual staff members receive strong, specific commendations: Lashanda is described as the "best ever," smart, intelligent, and personable; Rashad, Bradon, and Regina are all called "nice." One reviewer explicitly states gratitude and appreciation for staff, and at least one family member reports a positive experience with a relative living there. However, reviews note variability between shifts: morning staff are described positively ("beautiful"), while evening staff are called "mouthy/not friendly." This contrast suggests inconsistency in bedside manner or responsiveness across different teams or times of day.

A recurring concern centers on management approach and rules. Multiple reviewers mention "boxed-in policies" and a sense of rigidity, indicating that administrative or procedural inflexibility has been noticed and may affect resident or family satisfaction. While the specifics of those policies are not detailed in the summaries, the pattern is notable because it stands in contrast to otherwise warm comments about staff and the facility. The combination of strong individual caregivers and perceived institutional rigidity may point to differences between frontline caregiving and higher-level policy enforcement.

In synthesis, Livingston Place at Southern Avenue is presented as a well-appointed, accessible community with good programming and meal services, capable of serving residents with higher needs. The facility itself and several staff members receive strong praise, and at least one reviewer explicitly recommends living there. The main areas for potential improvement are consistency of staff demeanor across shifts—particularly evening coverage—and a re-evaluation or clearer communication of policies that reviewers experience as rigid or boxed-in. Prospective residents and families should weigh the facility's strong amenities, accessibility, and praised caregivers against concerns about policy flexibility and shift-to-shift variability in staff attitude.
