I toured the facility and felt confident moving my mother in - she absolutely adores the director and finds her relatable. The place feels safe (wandering restrictions without being cooped up), staff are pleasant, and care is good. Rooms are furnished with private/semi-private bathrooms and TVs, meals arrive hot, and activities are abundant - exercise, crafts, bingo, music, ice cream socials, holiday events and group outings. Convenient location near shopping and an active, comfortable atmosphere make this a great fit for us.

Summary of reviews
Reviewer feedback for this memory-care–focused facility is mixed, combining clear strengths in social programming and basic accommodations with notable, recurring operational concerns. Positive comments emphasize furnished rooms with private or semi-private bathrooms, in-room televisions and storage, and a range of activity offerings such as bingo, crafting, music events, holiday programming, exercise classes, and outdoor patio access. Several families praised the admissions director and described the environment as safe for residents who wander, while others appreciated the facility’s lower cost and proximity to shopping and community resources.
Care quality and staffing emerge as a primary area of variability. Some reviewers described staff as pleasant and capable of handling increasing care needs; others described inconsistent training, lapses in responsiveness, and concerns about the tone of staff interactions. There are repeated references to gaps in personal-care assistance (including bathing and grooming schedules) and to limited nighttime support, which reviewers linked to staffing patterns. The reviews also indicate reliance on external medical providers rather than comprehensive on-site clinical services.
Dining and nutrition receive mixed comments. Many reviewers praised hot meal delivery and basic meal availability, including salads and soups, while others found the food lacking in flavor or variety. Several accounts describe inconsistent meal satisfaction and interruptions to culinary standards tied to staffing or kitchen limitations.
Facility condition and sanitation are another recurring theme. While the building offers large communal areas and recreational rooms, reviewers noted aging infrastructure, odor concerns in places, and pest-control and cleanliness issues in some common areas. Room sizes and dormitory-style layouts were described as small by some families, which may affect expectations for privacy and comfort.
Management and administration drew both praise and criticism. The admissions director received favorable remarks for being relatable and supportive, and some families were grateful for last-minute placement. Contrastingly, others cited unresponsive management, opaque billing or post-admission fee increases, and a complex ownership/affiliate presence at the same address that raised questions about administrative transparency.
Overall, prospective residents and families should weigh the facility’s active social programming, basic furnished accommodations, and secured environment against concerns about staffing consistency, personal-care reliability, building upkeep, and administrative communication. A thorough in-person assessment focusing on current staffing levels, care plans (including nighttime assistance), sanitation protocols, meal menus, and contract/fee terms is advisable before admission.

About The Residence at Dania Beach
The Residence at Dania Beach, sometimes called Willow Manor Retirement Home, is a continuing care retirement community in Florida that offers different living options, including assisted living, memory care, independent living, and skilled nursing, with care levels shaped to fit each resident's needs, so residents have the choice of private, semi-private, or studio apartments, some with kitchenettes and all with full bathrooms, cable TV, telephone, air conditioning, and WiFi, and housekeeping and laundry are done regularly. Staff are around 24 hours a day and there's always a nurse on site for health needs like medication management, diabetic care, and incontinence support, and the community stays secured to keep wandering residents safe in an environment designed to support those with dementia, with services for bathing, dressing, grooming, transfer help, and assistance with daily living activities available so residents get help without feeling cooped up or isolated. The atmosphere is known for being warm and friendly, with staff described as loving and attentive, and even the housekeeper is known to talk with residents, making everybody feel at home, and there are always activities lined up-everything from morning meditations in the garden, yoga (including chair yoga), exercise programs, and walking paths on the manicured garden terraces, to group outings, offsite activities, and a resident musical group that keeps life interesting. The main dining room, with friendly staff and an all-day dining option, serves three chef-prepared meals daily and makes sure dietary needs for allergies or diabetic diets are met, and room service is also available for residents who'd rather eat in their space. Residents get mail delivered straight to their rooms, can access an in-house ice cream parlor, barber and beauty parlor services, a spa room, gym, game room, movie theater, several indoor seating areas and sun rooms, arts and crafts spaces, computer area, and a well-stocked library, and outdoor terraces and patios give residents space for BBQ lunches and fresh air with friends or family, who have plenty of on-site, visitor, and guest parking to use. The activities team organizes things like game nights, movie nights, devotional and religious services, arts and crafts, group exercises, and community-sponsored events to keep everyone engaged and social, and everyone helps out new residents with move-in coordination so the transition is easier. The Residence at Dania Beach is licensed to care for up to 200 people under Florida license number 12950, supports English-speaking residents, and provides all-inclusive pricing so it's easier for families to plan, and while the details matter and there's a focus on safety with fall management programs and ongoing care assessments, the most common thing people say is that the place feels relaxed and welcoming with well-kept gardens, clean rooms, and plenty of friendly faces.
