    Warm professional care mom thriving

I moved my mom in and felt immediate relief - staff greeted us warmly and were professional, knowledgeable and genuinely caring. The community is modern, clean and spacious with beautiful grounds, resort-style amenities, lots of activities and music (I even saw my mom dancing). Darline Osser and the team were exceptional through the tour and move-in; nurses and CNAs are attentive so I feel my mom is safe, happy and well cared for. Very pleased with the welcoming, active atmosphere.

    Summary of reviews

Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood presents as a well-appointed, resort-style senior community with a broad set of amenities and programs. Reviewers consistently praise the campus environment: landscaped grounds, fountains, a large heated pool, renovated common areas and apartments (many with balconies), and an active events calendar that includes music, live entertainment, classes, and frequent social programming. Independent-living residents and families frequently describe a positive social atmosphere, successful transitions, and helpful move-in support that promotes engagement and social reintegration.

Staffing and caregiving are a central mixed theme. A substantial number of comments commend the warmth, compassion, and dedication of many nurses, CNAs, dining staff, therapists, and administrators; several individuals and teams were singled out by name for exemplary service. At the same time, reviewers describe operational inconsistencies: limited visible nursing/CNA presence on some floors, variable responsiveness to calls and requests, and uneven communication tone. These patterns translate into concerns about supervision during night and evening hours and gaps in fall-prevention and incontinence-care responsiveness. Memory care receives especially critical feedback: reviewers cite limitations in dementia-specific programming and emotional/social support for residents with Alzheimer’s disease or related conditions.

Dining and services show both strengths and variability. Many reviewers praise the culinary leadership, varied menus, and made-to-order meal options; others describe intermittent declines in meal quality, long service times during kitchen renovation periods, and limited meal-time flexibility (for example, inconsistent lunch service in some contexts). The facility offers on-site therapy (physical and occupational), regular housekeeping, transportation and outings, and a range of apartment sizes equipped with kitchen appliances—features that families find valuable. Maintenance responsiveness is generally reported as good, but reviewers also noted recurring issues such as air-conditioning leaks and occasional delays in repair work.

Management, cost, and operational patterns merit attention. The community’s upscale positioning and ongoing renovations come with relatively high fees and periodic annual increases, and some families noted added charges for clinical services such as medication administration. Several reviewers expressed dissatisfaction after leadership or ownership changes, describing an observable impact on quality and consistency. Language access is another operational gap cited by residents and families: limited availability of multilingual staff has created communication friction in some cases.

In sum, Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood offers a strong amenity set, active programming, and many individual caregivers who receive high praise. Prospective residents and families should weigh those strengths against documented operational weaknesses: inconsistent clinical staffing and floor visibility, limitations in dementia-focused programming, variability in meal and housekeeping continuity, and ongoing cost increases. A site visit that includes a conversation about staffing patterns on the intended care level (independent, assisted, or memory), medication-administration procedures and fees, and recent management changes will help families assess fit and risk for their specific needs.

About Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood

Five Star Premier Residences of Hollywood sits on a large, gated 22-acre campus in Hollywood, Florida, between Miami and Fort Lauderdale, and you'll notice how there are peaceful lakes, fountains, community gardens, and spots where folks like to walk their dogs or sit in the gazebo. This place offers independent living, assisted living, memory care, and short-term stays, and there's staff onsite at all hours. The main building's a mid-rise, with one- and two-bedroom apartments, full kitchens or kitchenettes, and covered parking, which a lot of people like because they don't have to go outside if the weather's bad. You'll find restaurant-style dining, a MyChoice Dining Program with up to three meals a day, a private dining room for special occasions, and a Culinary Institute-trained Executive Chef leading the kitchen. There's a full-service beauty salon and barbershop, a fitness center, indoor heated and outdoor pools, and a putting green, so folks can try something new or just stick to the routines they like. A library, chapel, game rooms, and a computer center with high-speed internet are all set up for residents, and there are activities every day-from group trips and clubs, to movie nights in a real theater, volunteer work, happy hours, and pet therapy visits. People appreciate the FOX Rehabilitation partnership and various exercise classes. Transportation is available for trips to shopping or appointments, and laundry, housekeeping, and concierge services help make staying organized easier. They offer in-house doctor visits and have staff trained in Alzheimer's and dementia care, with a specialized Bridge to Rediscovery program for memory care residents. There are church services onsite, along with scheduled social events, group walks around the pond, and card games. Folks say the staff here are friendly and make it a warm, supportive place, and the pet-friendly policy means several dogs and cats keep everyone good company. Housing choices let you pick what suits your needs best, whether you're active and independent, needing a little help, or searching for secure memory care, and people say the whole campus, with its bright halls and big windows, feels like a caring, well-run community. The community doesn't require a big upfront payment-rent covers services like meals, wellness programs, and access to all the amenities, and neighbors can spend their time trying out whatever activities fit them best. Reviewers give the place high marks for care and kind staff, and residents seem to enjoy plenty of privacy but still find ways to join in when they want.
