    Pleasant well-run assisted living community

I moved my mom into this clean, gated community and have been very pleased with the friendly, attentive staff and comfortable one-bedroom apartments (large bedroom/bath, kitchenette with fridge and microwave). Dining is restaurant-style with excellent meals and daily options, there's an on-site chapel with frequent Mass, and many activities (bingo, music, movies, library); aides help with bathing/dressing and nurses check regularly. With on-site rehab/continuum of care and good value, it's a pleasant, well-run place I'd recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The facility presents as a faith‑based, secure campus that emphasizes a continuum of care and community life. Many reviewers highlighted the on‑site Catholic chapel and frequent Mass as central features, along with a wide set of amenities such as private one‑bedroom apartments, restaurant‑style dining, and a range of recreational offerings. The campus model — assisted living, rehabilitation, nursing and hospice within the same enclosed area — is consistently noted as convenient for families seeking long‑term continuity of services.

Care and staff: Numerous families praised the nursing staff and aides for attentive, competent assistance with activities of daily living, including help with bathing and dressing, and for regular clinical checks. Several accounts described attentive, conscientious nurses and good clinical oversight with physician visits on site. However, there is a notable pattern of concern about staff conduct and communication tone: some reviewers described instances of unprofessional interactions and unsatisfactory responses from supervisory staff. These reports point to inconsistency in staff behavior and responsiveness rather than a uniformly poor standard; prospective families should ask about staff training, supervision, and complaint processes during a tour.

Dining and activities: Dining is a clear strength for many residents — reviewers frequently described varied menu choices, snack availability, and a pleasant, restaurant‑style dining environment. Activities programming is robust and includes bingo, weekly movies, singing groups, music rooms, library access, and regular devotional activities tied to the chapel. Reviewers noted that these offerings support social engagement and an active daily schedule.

Facilities and accommodations: The campus is described as gated and secure, with well‑maintained grounds and a mix of updated and older buildings. Apartment units are generally regarded as generous in size, with full‑size refrigerators, microwaves, large bathrooms, and some kitchen capabilities (stove availability may vary). The presence of on‑campus rehabilitation services and a connected continuum of care is frequently cited as an advantage. At the same time, reviewers describe variability across the campus — some buildings are newer and recently renovated, while others are older and offer fewer frills. Prospective residents should inspect specific buildings and units for condition and amenity differences.

Management and operational patterns: Operationally, the facility receives mixed feedback. Several reviewers praised housekeeping, laundry service, and overall maintenance, but others noted inconsistent cleanliness in certain areas and raised concerns about how management handles complaints, billing disputes, and refunds. These items suggest variability in administrative responsiveness and in the consistency of housekeeping and service delivery. Cost perceptions also vary: many reviewers felt the facility offered good value, while others found it expensive relative to expectations.

Recommendation: St. Joseph’s appears well suited to residents and families prioritizing a faith‑based community, active programming, and an on‑campus continuum of clinical services. The dominant themes are strong dining, engaging activities, and attentive clinical caregivers. However, the facility also shows variability in staff conduct, management responsiveness, and building condition. Visitors should tour specific units, inquire about staff training and supervisory protocols, review billing and dispute procedures, and confirm which amenities are available in the particular building they are considering before making a placement decision.
