    Compassionate respectful staff home-like care

I placed my mom here and have been very satisfied - compassionate, respectful caregivers (excellent with Alzheimer's) and licensed, responsive staff who truly make it feel like home. Clean rooms with good light and storage, family-style meals using fresh ingredients, and lovely outdoor space with hobby-farm animals that residents and visiting kids enjoy. The team is friendly, helpful and caring; a warm, safe assisted-living option I confidently recommend.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The reviews portray Elders of Mount Dora Assisted Living as a small, family-run assisted living home that emphasizes a homelike environment, personalized attention, and compassionate caregiving. Families repeatedly describe staff as caring, respectful, and responsive, and several accounts highlight the facility's suitability for residents living with Alzheimer's or other memory-impairment needs. The operation is presented as licensed and staffed by knowledgeable caregivers, with many families expressing gratitude and recommending the facility for loved ones who need assisted living-level support.

Care and staff: Reviewers emphasize staff compassion, respectful interactions, and prompt responsiveness to questions and needs. Licensed caregivers are noted, and the facility's small size is associated with individualized attention and a family-like team dynamic. Continuity of management after the founder's passing is described as stable, with family members continuing operations. These patterns suggest strong interpersonal care and close staff–family communication, but prospective residents should confirm the level of clinical services available if complex medical or therapy needs are expected.

Dining and activities: Dining is consistently described positively — fresh ingredients, well-prepared meals, and a family-style dining experience that contributes to a social atmosphere. Activity options highlighted include outdoor time, enjoying the country setting and sounds, indoor movies, and interactions with hobby-farm animals. The rural, outdoor orientation appears to be a strength for residents who enjoy fresh air and simple, nature-focused engagement, and the animal interactions are noted as meaningful diversions for visitors and families.

Facilities and environment: The physical environment is characterized as clean and home-like. Rooms are described as adequately sized, with features such as skylights, good lighting, large closets, and convenient bathroom/shower proximity. Families note that personal items and clothing are well managed. The small scale and country setting contribute to a quiet, residential feel rather than an institutional one.

Management and notable patterns: The provider operates as a family-run home; reviewers view this positively for continuity and personalized care, though it also implies more limited institutional resources compared with larger communities. Several reviewers recommend early inquiry because availability may be constrained. Overall, patterns in the reviews point to strengths in compassionate caregiving, pleasant dining, and an engaging outdoor environment, alongside operational limitations typical of smaller, rural assisted-living homes — namely constrained capacity, fewer on-site specialty medical services, and potential transportation challenges. Prospective residents and families should confirm fit for specific clinical needs and tour the property to evaluate access and personalization policies.

About Elders of Mount Dora Assisted Living Facility LLC

Elders of Mount Dora Assisted Living Facility LLC sits about three and a half miles outside Mount Dora, Florida, at 6767 Round Lake Rd, and has 11 licensed beds in a medium-sized community, so you don't get lost in a crowd but still have folks around. The facility is state-licensed and gets regular reviews. They've got assisted living for seniors who want to keep as much independence as possible but need a hand now and then, whether that's getting dressed, managing medicine, or picking up around the place. Different living options include one-bedroom and semi-private rooms, each coming either fully furnished or customizable, all with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and kitchenettes, plus cable TV, internet, and phone service so you can stay comfortable in your own way. Meals use organic foods and the kitchen staff prepares menus to help with different diets, and folks eat together in a shared dining space.

The place emphasizes a home-like setting with staff always present for help or just to check in and make sure everyone's alright, 'cause there's 24-hour supervision, a call system for emergencies, and staff to support daily activities. The community takes care of housekeeping, linen changes, and general chores, so residents don't need to worry about cleaning or repairs. Memory care is available for seniors who face dementia or Alzheimer's, and home care services are on hand too. Residents can get transportation to appointments or out for errands, which can make life easier for families.

For community and well-being, they run activity programs every day, covering social, mental, and physical needs, so folks feel engaged and don't sit too long by themselves. There's a focus on safety, so they set up walk-in tubs, ID theft protection, home security, and medication dispensers. Residents can choose how much support they want, whether it's just a little help or more daily care, and caregivers focus on treating each person as an individual, working to build a caring, welcoming place to live for people as they age. Monthly costs start around $3,500 to $4,500 depending on care, and the facility runs every day, year-round. The staff get noted for being helpful, joyful, and kind, and they all aim to make daily life comfortable, whether that's providing help with personal care or just a pleasant conversation over coffee in the morning.
