    Professional caring staff, spotless facility

I moved my mom in recently and have been very pleased. The staff-especially Melissa, Cindy, Lauren, Sara and Chef Rashad-are professional, caring and responsive; the facility is beautiful, spotless and well-maintained with spacious rooms, a big lobby, garden and pool. There's a busy calendar of activities, excellent meals and hospice/medical support, and my mom is safe, engaged and happy - I recommend Seashore.

    Summary of reviews

Seashore Senior Living is described across reviews as a newer, well-appointed community with many features that families and residents value. The physical environment is consistently praised: reviewers note clean, freshly decorated common areas and apartments, an attractive foyer and activity rooms, an enclosed garden, waterfront access, and a handicap-accessible pool. Unit features commonly cited include private studios with kitchenettes, included housekeeping and laundry, and amenities such as a salon, game room, transportation services, and moving assistance.

Staff and care quality receive mixed but largely positive commentary. Numerous reviewers highlight friendly, attentive caregivers, engaged CNAs and nursing staff, and hands-on owners and directors who know residents by name. Several reviewers credit specific leaders with improving the community's culture and operations. At the same time, there are repeated operational concerns about inconsistent staffing levels and turnover, occasional unprofessional communication at the front desk, and statements indicating that the community can be less suitable for residents who require high-acuity or intensive personal-care support.

Dining and programs are prominent strengths for many families. The community is repeatedly praised for fresh, farm-to-table style meals, an on-site chef, and generous portions; reviewers describe a wide variety of daily menus and restaurant-quality offerings. The activities program is active and diverse, with water aerobics, beach and shopping outings, live music, arts and crafts, and frequent social events; the activities director is often singled out for positive engagement. However, reviewers also report inconsistent meal quality and some food-safety incidents, which suggests variability in kitchen oversight and food-safety controls.

Clinical, safety, and operational patterns show divergence in reviewer experience. Positive notes include on-site nursing oversight, a locked memory-care wing, and available hospice support. Concerning patterns raised across reviews include gaps in medication administration oversight, variable responsiveness to safety-related maintenance requests, and disputes over billing and contract charges. Multiple reviews describe difficult individual incidents in memory care and contested discharges; these have been serious for the families involved and have led to allegations of improper financial and discharge practices in isolated cases. Prospective families should treat these as red flags meriting direct inquiry.

Overall, Seashore Senior Living appears to offer a clean, attractive, and socially engaging environment with strong culinary and activity programming and owners who are personally involved. Balanced against those strengths are recurring operational issues: staffing stability, medication oversight, food-safety consistency, maintenance responsiveness, billing transparency, and clarity of behavioral-management policies for memory care. Families considering this community should verify current staffing ratios and turnover history, ask for documented medication-administration and food-safety procedures, review contract and billing terms carefully, and discuss memory-care admission/readmission and behavioral-management policies before making a placement decision.

    About Seashore Senior Living

Seashore Senior Living sits on North Dixie Freeway in New Smyrna Beach and fills three bright, updated stories with a feeling of welcome you can sense as soon as you step into the spacious lobby, and you'll notice straight away that the staff are attentive and friendly, including a helpful front desk person who greets people and points them in the right direction, and there's always someone available 24/7 because safety and support are big priorities. The leadership team includes an Executive Director with CDP qualifications, so folks dealing with Alzheimer's or dementia receive personalized and thoughtful care, and the staff go through ongoing education and certifications to keep up high standards. One unique thing is they have farm-to-table meals coming straight from the community garden, a dietician approves the menu, and chefs pay close attention to nutrition and taste, so whether it's a regular day or a special event, residents get good food served by people who care.

The community offers studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom apartments, including two baths in some units, all remodeled to be comfortable and relaxing, and you can see model and 3D floor plans during a free tour, even have a sample meal while you visit. Residents can bring pets, and there's space for activities like fitness classes, games, outings to the beach, shopping, and even movie nights with friends. Amenities include a beautiful pool for aqua therapy, a salon, Wi-Fi, parking, community transportation for appointments or trips, and staff-led activities designed to help folks stay sharp and make meaningful connections, which is important for seniors wanting to maintain independence but enjoy a hassle-free lifestyle.

Seashore Senior Living provides assisted living and memory care, covering everything from help with bathing and dressing to medication management, as well as specialized therapies for dementia. There's a nurse serving as Wellness Director to oversee health, custom diet plans for individual needs, and both short-term and long-term options depending on each situation. Folks who want to live independently can choose non-medical home care with trained aides for companionship and support. The all-inclusive rates remain steady even as care needs change, and the staff put a big focus on listening to residents and making moves into the community as smooth as possible, especially since the management is new and actively welcoming new residents. The staff and leadership share a mission of compassion, dignity, and making sure every day is meaningful, whether that means a swim in the pool, a good meal in the dining room, or an easy chat with neighbors in the lobby.
