    Caring professional staff and facility

I placed my grandma here and I'm very pleased. The staff - especially owner Doreen - are caring, professional and attentive with excellent caregiver coverage and 24/7 care. The clean, home-like facility serves fresh, healthy meals, runs abundant activities and outings, and has helped my grandma regain mobility and make friends; I highly recommend it for compassionate, well-organized assisted living.

    Summary of reviews

Angel House Senior Services is described in many accounts as a small, home-like assisted living setting with a strong emphasis on personalized, family-oriented care. Reviewers commonly note an engaged owner/administrator presence, a high caregiver-to-resident ratio, and round-the-clock nursing and assistance. Families and residents frequently highlight the facility’s social atmosphere, peer interaction, and staff behaviors characterized as warm and attentive.

Dining and wellness offerings receive consistent praise. Meals are described as fresh, home-cooked, and often organic, with reviewers noting appealing aromas and meal quality. The program of daily walks, light therapy, hydration support, and mobility-focused activities is frequently cited as contributing to residents’ physical improvement and increased engagement. Therapeutic elements such as pet-assisted activities, horticulture, and wireless music systems are called out as positive contributors to quality of life.

Activities and outings are a clear strength: the facility runs a broad schedule that includes live music performances (noted as occurring twice weekly by several families), games, Wii, library and bowling trips, Walmart and community outings, and special events such as dances. This programming appears to support socialization and an active lifestyle for many residents; several families reported measurable improvements in mood and mobility after admission.

Operational patterns show both strengths and some recurring concerns. Positive operational features include strong owner involvement, accessible family communication, and an intimate setting that supports individualized attention. At the same time, reviews reveal variability in staff morale and retention, which can affect day-to-day consistency. A number of accounts raise sanitation or odor-control inconsistencies and occasional maintenance or cosmetic needs in parts of the house. There are also descriptions of uneven activity participation for some residents and intermittent inconsistencies in meal assistance and portioning.

More serious operational questions that families should explore during a tour include medication-management procedures and protocols for residents with wandering or dementia-related behaviors; several reviewers raised concerns about how behavioral issues are managed. Additionally, there are occasional notes about administrative communication, billing or reimbursement questions, and the impact of limited admissions/waitlists on placement timing.

Practical suggestions for prospective families: observe the facility during an activity period, ask about staffing ratios across shifts and staff turnover, request written medication-management and dementia-care protocols, review recent inspection or licensing records, and sample mealtime service. Overall, Angel House presents a model of intimate, activity-rich assisted living with many families describing noticeable improvements in residents’ well-being, while also showing operational variability that merits direct inquiry during a visit.

    About Angel House Senior Services

Angel House Senior Services sits right in Pembroke Pines, Florida, offering a home-like setting for older adults who need daily help and care, and while it stays on the smaller side with only six licensed beds, the community still manages a lot, like assisted living, adult daycare, memory care, and even hospice or respite care for up to one month if someone only needs a short stay, and they do this in both English and Spanish, which really helps folks feel at home if they're more comfortable in either language. The house keeps an average cost around $5,000 per month and has been rated 4.0 stars with recognition as a Best of Senior Living All Star, meaning most families and residents leave positive feedback about its care.

Families often appreciate the personal touch, with an especially good staff-to-resident ratio, and every person gets help tailored to their needs, like bathing, dressing, grooming, walking, or using a wheelchair, and plenty of support for medication, wound care, diabetic care, and more, plus on-call doctors, nurses, and even regular visits from specialists like primary care physicians, psychologists, podiatrists, and therapists for physical, occupational, or speech needs. The facility has licensed staff who receive regular training and the registered dietician makes sure residents eat three home-cooked meals each day, along with healthy snacks, fresh fruit, and drinks available whenever someone's hungry. They set up the food so everyone shares meals in a family dining room, which many seniors enjoy, and they keep the menus nutritious and varied for taste and health.

Angel House Senior Services allows pets, and doesn't let anyone smoke inside, making it healthier for everyone, and they have wheelchair accessible showers, private baths, and safety features like a sprinkler system and other accessible touches, which does make things more comfortable for those with mobility limits. The care home has indoor and outdoor spaces-there are patios, gardens, a swimming pool and heated Jacuzzi, even a piano and a computer center so folks can use the internet, learn new things, play games, or visit with family on video calls-and if someone needs a haircut, barber or nail care, they can get that on site too.

There are plenty of activities both inside and out, like social events, art and crafts, educational programs, parties, and group outings, and memory care residents get activities designed just for them. Residents can park if they drive, but also have free transportation for outings, appointments, and errands. Laundry, housekeeping, and linen services get done regularly, and families report the home stays clean and tidy.

Room choices range from studios and single or two-bedroom units in assisted living to private and semi-private nursing home rooms, so seniors can pick what suits them best. Adult daycare is available for those not staying overnight, and there's no waiting list for day program care if you need something soon. The place stays open for in-person visits during regular hours, so families can drop by and see their relatives in action or talk with staff face to face.

Angel House Senior Services is licensed by the State of Florida, works on a non-profit basis, and offers everything under one simple, all-inclusive price, which covers care, activities, food, housekeeping, and transportation, and though it's not a huge fancy place, people speak well of the staff and the steady level of attention each resident receives in this smaller, warm, and family-run environment.
