    Family-centered compassionate care; highly recommended

I'm so grateful we found this family-centered facility - the staff, nurses, chef and director were phenomenal, loving, and proactive, and communication with our family was excellent. They worked closely with hospice, respected our wishes, supported us during my mom's passing, and re-evaluated her medications so she became more lucid, ate and walked better. The care and attention felt second to none; nearly perfect and highly recommended.

    Summary of reviews

The reviews present a polarized picture of Amore Dementia Care, with pronounced strengths in direct resident care and notable operational weaknesses at the facility level. Many families emphasize compassionate, family-centered attention and clear, consistent communication with relatives. Clinical staff—particularly nurses—and culinary leadership receive strong praise. Several accounts indicate that medication reviews and adjustments led to measurable improvements in resident alertness, appetite, and mobility. End-of-life support and coordination with hospice services are also described positively by multiple families.

Care delivery and daily interaction are recurring strengths: reviewers describe caregivers as engaged, affectionate, and involved with residents. Nursing oversight and proactive clinical decision-making are highlighted as contributors to improved resident outcomes in some cases. Dining receives positive mention tied to an identified chef and attentive food service, and overall caregiver attentiveness is often framed as a core asset of the facility.

However, these positive reports are counterbalanced by several operational concerns that prospective families should evaluate. Reviewers describe instability in administrative leadership and periods of managerial absence, which are tied to broader weaknesses in staff supervision and scheduling. Caregiver qualification and training appear uneven, creating variability in day-to-day care depending on shift and unit. Facility maintenance issues—including dark corridors, localized odor concerns, and gaps in environmental upkeep—are noted and may affect perceived cleanliness and comfort.

Operational processes also show gaps: families reported problems with tracking personal belongings and expressed concerns about billing and transitions to hospice care. These items suggest weaknesses in administrative processes and transfer/billing communication. Taken together, the pattern indicates that while direct caregiving and clinical interventions can be strong, the facility’s consistency and back-office operations are variable.

Advice for prospective residents and families: arrange a tour that includes multiple units and different times of day to assess staffing consistency and environmental conditions; ask about leadership stability, staff training programs, medication-review protocols, belongings-handling policies, and hospice-billing procedures; request recent staffing ratios and examples of how the facility handles clinical escalation and family communication. These targeted inquiries will help determine whether the facility’s caregiving strengths are paired with the operational reliability you expect.

    About Amore Dementia Care

Amore Dementia Care in Stuart, FL, handles memory care for seniors with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, and the staff focuses on making residents feel safe and cared for, and they keep an eye out for wandering or behavior problems since many residents sometimes try to leave or act out, so they use special bracelets and secured doors to help keep everyone safe and inside the community, and they even have a separate building for memory care so people dealing with dementia can get help and live with less confusion since the rooms, halls, and gathering spots are set up just for their needs. The staff at Amore Dementia Care includes 24-hour awake team members, nurses, and a doctor who's on call, plus visiting healthcare professionals like podiatrists and therapists, and residents get care for things like incontinence, diabetes - though residents need to handle their insulin themselves - and those who need help moving can get a one-person transfer. Meals are made onsite by chefs and meal planners to make sure residents don't have to worry about cooking, and everyone gets access to indoor spaces where they can chat, play games, or join activities, which helps keep folks moving and talking to each other, and the activity program tries to get everyone involved so they don't feel lonely or bored. Staff help out with medication and watch for medical needs, and the team looks out for people who need light or medium care, as well as those who sometimes get physically aggressive, and the community keeps a close caregiver-to-resident ratio. People have to be at least 50 years old to live there, and the focus is on helping each person stay as independent as possible while still being part of the group, and they set up care plans that match the person's needs, whether that's cueing for daily tasks, help with bathing, or just making sure they get to activities. The place runs on a community fee system, keeps up with licensing, safety checks, and gets monthly license verification from Care.com, and it's managed by Purple Door, LLC, which works to keep the place friendly and kind, and staff try to make life comfortable, reduce confusion, and let every resident have a chance to connect and feel safe.
