    Compassionate attentive staff, excellent care

I placed my loved one here and I'm very pleased - the staff truly treat families like family, are accessible and attentive, and the clinical team (nurses, NP, OT/PT) provides individualized, compassionate care. The facility feels clean, home-like and secure, with engaging activities, good meals, pleasant grounds and leadership that stays involved; communication and transitions (including memory care/hospice) were smooth. Great value overall - I would recommend it to others.

    Summary of reviews

Stone Ledge Manor presents a mixed but well-defined profile. Strengths commonly described include a warm, family-style culture among caregiving staff and hands-on clinical oversight. Many families highlight the facility’s ability to coordinate transitions to hospice and manage hospital interactions, and several reviewers specifically praised on-site clinical services (physician, optometry, podiatry) and regular nursing involvement. The community offers a wide range of amenities — private, spacious rooms with individual climate control and private baths; furnished apartment options with kitchenettes and televisions; a café/coffee bar, library, beauty/barber services; and ample outdoor spaces and social rooms. The activities program is robust, with an active director, daily socialization opportunities, walking clubs, arts and crafts, bingo and scheduled outings via the facility bus, which support resident engagement and a home-like atmosphere. Management presence and certain leaders were singled out positively for being responsive and involved, which contributed to smooth memory-care transitions and family reassurance in many cases.

At the same time, there is a recurring pattern of operational concerns that prospective families should consider. Staffing consistency is a frequent theme: reviewers described evening and weekend shifts as particularly thin and noted overall turnover, which can affect continuity of care. Multiple accounts indicate inconsistencies in cleanliness and sanitation practices, and a limited number of reports cited pest-control issues in resident rooms. Meal service emerges as another area of variability — while some praise homemade, nutritious meals and a skilled cook, others note cold or delayed trays and limited warming options in secured units. Property controls and personal-item management appear weak in certain cases, with belongings such as walkers, clothing or eyewear becoming misplaced; this points to opportunities for stronger inventory and tracking procedures.

Clinical processes and incident handling also show uneven performance. A subset of reviews allege lapses in following physician orders and medication-administration practices, and some families described concerns about transfer and mobility-assist techniques that may increase risk of injury. Relatedly, there are reports of inconsistent documentation and communication following incidents, and a few families found front-office professionalism and responsiveness to be lacking — for example, difficulty reaching staff, billing delays, or dismissive initial responses. Finally, while common areas and many apartments are well maintained, portions of the building are described as dated with limited dining or activity space, which may require updates to better match resident volume and program needs.

Overall, Stone Ledge Manor appears to deliver strong person-centered care and a broad amenity set for many residents, particularly where staffing and leadership are stable and engaged. However, the facility also displays recurring operational weaknesses—staffing variability, inconsistent housekeeping and meal-service execution, property-control gaps, and some inconsistencies in clinical-protocol adherence and incident communication. Prospective residents and their families would be well served to tour the specific unit of interest, ask about current staffing patterns and turnover rates, review policies for transfer assistance and physician-order adherence, inquire about pest-control and sanitation protocols, and request clarification on meal-service procedures and personal-item tracking before making a placement decision.
