    Caring staff but inconsistent management

I've been involved with this facility for years: it feels home-like, residents are generally happy, and many nurses and staff are caring, professional, and active in community programs (volunteering, reading sessions, Love Project). Unfortunately cleanliness is inconsistent, there are too few aides, and management can be unresponsive or rude-I've seen poor communication, billing concerns, and care lapses. Because of those staffing and accountability issues, I cannot confidently recommend it for a loved one despite the many positives.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment across the review summaries is mixed, with a clear split between many strongly positive accounts and several serious negative allegations. On the positive side, multiple reviewers emphasize a home-like atmosphere, long-tenured residents, and staff who are professional, helpful, kind, and respectful. Several comments call out excellent customer service, good or great care, and describe the facility as clean and well managed. There is repeated praise for the facility's focus on rehabilitation and its role as either a rehab stop or a permanent home, indicating that for many residents the clinical and rehabilitative services meet expectations.

Care quality appears inconsistent across reports. Numerous reviewers describe good medical attention, timely response to clinical needs, and satisfied patients; one Spanish-language comment explicitly notes "buena atención médica, seguridad eficaz, movilización rápida para atención." At the same time, a subset of reviews raises very serious concerns: claims of neglect, unresponsive staff, an extended ICU stay allegedly resulting from negligent care, refusal of basic care such as baths, and descriptions of a "horrible experience." These negative accounts are substantive and severe enough to suggest quality variability that could reflect differences by shift, unit, individual caregivers, or changes over time.

Staff-related themes are predominantly positive but not uniform. Many reviewers praise the staff and nurses as caring and respectful, and one reviewer refers to the administrator as the "best administrator," while other reviewers report rude administrators and perceived indifference from management. This contrast points to uneven experiences with leadership and frontline employees. Staffing levels are an explicit concern: several reviewers call for more aides and indicate staff shortages. Where staff are present and engaged, residents and families report satisfaction; where staffing is thin or certain staff are unresponsive, outcomes and perceptions decline markedly.

Facility upkeep and operations also show mixed signals. Several reviews call the center "very clean" and "well managed," while at least one review notes cleanliness issues. This divergence suggests that environmental standards may fluctuate or that experiences differ by location within the facility or across time. The facility receives praise for customer service in multiple accounts, but outward-facing service ratings coexist with internal complaints about communication and accountability. Poor communication from management and lack of follow-through on concerns are recurring negatives that exacerbate other issues.

Community engagement and activities are a clear strength mentioned by multiple reviewers. Volunteer involvement, twice-monthly reading sessions, and fundraising initiatives such as the "Love Project" for 2025 were noted, indicating active programming and community connections that benefit residents socially and emotionally. These offerings contribute to the perception of a home-like environment and meaningful resident engagement.

Management and billing are areas of notable contradiction and risk. While some reviewers highlight excellent administration, others accuse administrators of rudeness and even unethical billing practices. Complaints about billing and accountability, when paired with reports of care lapses, raise concerns about governance, transparency, and complaint-resolution processes. Families considering placement should seek clarification on billing procedures, grievance policies, and how management addresses reported incidents.

In summary, Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center appears to deliver strong, compassionate care and meaningful programming for many residents, with particular strengths in rehabilitation focus, caring staff, community activities, and—according to several reviewers—clean and well-managed facilities. However, there are significant, credible negative reports that indicate variability in care quality, staffing adequacy, communication, and administrative responsiveness. The pattern suggests the facility can provide very good care in many cases but also has instances of serious failure. Prospective residents and families should conduct targeted due diligence: ask about current staffing levels and turnover, incident and inspection histories, how complaints are tracked and resolved, billing transparency, and visit multiple times and at different times of day to gauge consistency. These steps will help determine whether the positive experiences reported are typical and whether the facility’s shortcomings have been addressed.

The facility's owned and run by Crisp Regional Health Services, and you can expect a team that includes nurses, certified nursing assistants, a medical director named David Duvall, MD, director of nursing Cierra Williams, and administrator Jodie Kennedy, who've set up therapy options that handle things like wound care, IV therapy, pain management with electrical stimulation or ultrasound, plus more modern treatments like iontophoresis, whirlpool, and manual therapy. Extra services include dental, podiatric, and vision care, and there's access to imaging like X-ray, mammography, and ultrasound if a doctor needs a look inside. Families arrange appointments online and pay bills through RXLOCAL or a patient portal. The center is part of a larger health network that runs urgent care, dialysis, and hospital services across Cordele and Central Georgia, all coordinated for different levels of need.

The latest inspection showed 9 deficiencies, mainly related to respiratory care, resident assessment, and nutrition and dietary disposal, all without any actual harm, but the potential for more than minimal harm was there, and most of the nutrition and dietary disposal issues affected many residents. Jessica Carter's had managerial control since 2014, and the center holds membership in the Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce. Long-term nursing care, respite care, and memory care are available, and folks with Medicaid, Medicare, private insurance, or self-pay arrangements can apply. Overall, Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehabilitation Center provides a simple, honest setting for seniors and rehab patients in Cordele who need 24-hour care, therapy, or support with daily activities in a place focused on clinical services and compassion.
