Family Ties

Family Ties is a small senior living community in Hawaii, licensed for up to 5 residents, and it's designed to feel home-like with fully furnished living units and garden spaces, and there's a spacious dining room where residents get three daily, home-cooked meals that can be adjusted for special diets such as diabetes or allergies, and if anybody needs help with bathing, dressing, bathroom needs, or getting in and out of the shower, there's 24-hour supervision and support for those daily activities, including medication management, housekeeping, laundry, and even a mobile hairdresser if needed. The community provides memory care, hospice care, skilled nursing, and respite care for short-term relief, and it also helps with transportation to doctor appointments or spiritual services, and the staff can coordinate move-in, help with errands or medical transit, and stay in touch with healthcare providers. Residents can relax in the reading room, wellness room, or outside walking on the paths and garden, and there are regular programs like movie nights, exercise, music, art activities, tabletop games, animal therapy, and community gatherings, all aimed at helping residents stay engaged, maintain independence, and feel supported by services and amenities that put family relationships at the center. The starting monthly cost for assisted living is about $3,000, and they accept private pay, long-term care insurance, and Veterans Aid and Attendance, with Hawaii's Department of Social Services overseeing the facility to make sure it meets state standards.
