    Attentive staff, clean rooms, welcoming

I've been very pleased with the attentive, friendly staff, clean and comfortable rooms, varied activities, and reliable care - meals are good and management is responsive. It feels safe and welcoming; a couple small tweaks would make it perfect.

    About Kaimuki Senior Care, LLC

Kaimuki Senior Care, LLC sits on 918 12th Avenue in Honolulu and serves as a Type II Expanded Adult Residential Care Home licensed for up to 8 residents, so you're looking at a medium-sized community. The facility feels homelike, with large private bedrooms, each with connecting private baths, spacious living and dining areas, and even porches so residents can enjoy the breeze. The place supports seniors who need help with daily life like bathing, dressing, hygiene, meals, medication, and some medical support, like insulin shots or incontinence care, if needed, all backed by two live-in nurses and four nurse assistants on duty around the clock. They've got assisted living and memory care, with extra safety for people living with conditions like Alzheimer's or vascular dementia, and they keep a 24-hour call system active for residents' peace of mind.

There's a focus on keeping life active and interesting with walking paths, gardens, movie nights, daily activities, fitness schedules, art programs, music therapy, pet therapy, and board games. You get three homemade meals a day, and the staff will help with special diets for things like high blood pressure or diabetes, plus there's a mobile hairdresser, laundry, cooking, and housekeeping. Residents can spend time in the reading room, jacuzzi, steam room, fitness area, yard, or game rooms, and there's organized transport to doctor's appointments, errands, and nearby religious services. The facility's close to Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, The Queen's Health Care Centers, pharmacies, and a mix of parks, coffee shops, cafes, bakeries, and restaurants, so you're not far from anything you might need or want-places like Leonard's Bakery, Diamond Head Market & Grill, Fort Ruger Park, Waialae Iki Park, and Kapiolani Park all fit into daily life if you want to get out. If you need a break as a primary caregiver, they offer respite care too. People looking for a social and easy living setup will find independent living options, while those needing help with health and recovery from illness or injury can use the skilled nursing and rehab services, including physical therapy. The facility follows a resident-first plan, offering care that's personal and structured, aiming for a caring, respectful, and safe environment, as the State of Hawaii requires. It's not certified by Medicare and doesn't have pet accommodations listed, so that's worth checking if those things matter. Amenities and programs might change, so it's wise to ask exactly what's available when you take a tour. Everything here is geared toward helping seniors live as actively, safely, and comfortably as they can, right in a part of Honolulu that gives you big city convenience but with a neighborhood feel.
