    Moved mom in very pleased

I toured Villas of Holly Brook and moved my mom in - overall very pleased. The staff are warm, caring and responsive, the bright, brand-new facility feels safe and welcoming, and apartments are spacious with nice common spaces (movie room, salon, fitness). Meals are varied and activities (outings, arts & crafts, bingo, music, exercise, prayer groups) keep residents engaged and families included. Administration was informative and organized; I felt my loved one was well cared for and would recommend this community.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: The Villas of Holly Brook presents as a new, well-appointed assisted-living and memory-care community with a strong emphasis on social programming, family involvement, and a community atmosphere. Review content emphasizes a compassionate caregiving culture, active engagement in the memory-care wing, and a broad slate of recreational options that include music, games, exercise classes, outings, and facility-wide events. Public spaces and common-area amenities such as a movie theater, salon/spa, and social foyers are consistently described as bright, clean, and comfortable.

Care and staff: Care interactions are the most consistently positive element. Families describe nursing and caregiving staff as warm, responsive, and willing to go beyond routine duties; memory-care activity staff are highlighted for patience and purposeful engagement. At the same time, reviewers indicate operational challenges related to staffing continuity and variable professionalism. These comments point to periodic turnover and uneven training outcomes rather than a uniform failure of care; prospective residents should assess continuity plans and staff-stability measures during tours.

Dining and nutrition: Dining is generally characterized as varied and balanced, with a kitchen team that solicits resident feedback and is experimenting with new menu items. However, there are recurring concerns about meal execution — specifically food temperature and perceived over-seasoning in some dishes — that create mixed impressions of day-to-day meal quality. Families who prioritize consistent meal service may wish to discuss kitchen workflows and temperature-control practices with administration.

Activities and social life: The facility’s activity programming is a clear strength, with a wide range of offerings from faith-based gatherings to themed events, guest performers, movie nights, crafts, and group exercise. These programs contribute to residents’ social reconnection and the community feel frequently mentioned in the reviews. Memory-care programming benefits from intentional design elements such as indoor park spaces and natural light, which reviewers found supportive of engagement.

Facilities, housekeeping, and maintenance: The property’s new construction and amenities earn positive mention, as do clean public areas and comfortable common rooms. Nevertheless, there is a pattern of inconsistent housekeeping in private apartments — some families report only light or weekly cleaning and occasional dissatisfaction with room cleaning standards. Maintenance responsiveness also appears uneven in practice (examples include delayed repairs of common equipment), and some odor-control practices (plug-in air fresheners) may be problematic for residents with scent sensitivity.

Management, value, and notable patterns: Administrative staff and leadership receive favorable comments for organization, hospitality during admissions, and family communication in many cases. Safety and security are generally seen as adequate. The primary operational trade-offs identified across reviews are price and value perception, combined with episodic gaps in staffing continuity, housekeeping consistency, and meal execution. For families considering this community, recommended focus areas for a tour include: staffing continuity and training programs, the facility’s housekeeping schedule and standards for private units, concrete examples of maintenance-response timelines, and real-time observation of meal service for temperature and seasoning consistency. Overall, the community shows many hallmarks of a well-resourced, socially active memory-care and assisted-living setting, with some operational areas that would benefit from targeted management attention.
