    Clean, caring staff, delicious meals

I moved my mom into Serenity and I'm very pleased - bright, new one-bedroom apartments that are tastefully decorated and spotless. The chef-cooked, restaurant-style meals are delicious, the bistro and dining room are impressive, and the activity calendar (music, art, social events) keeps residents engaged. The staff - especially Keli Miller and Director Janelle - are caring, attentive, and know residents by name; they supported our family every step of the way. It feels homey and safe, excellent value for independent and memory care; only a few minor quibbles keep it from perfection.

    Summary of reviews

Serenity presents as a modern, well-kept senior living community with many strengths in physical environment, dining, and weekday programming. Reviewers consistently highlight the facility’s attractive, tastefully decorated interiors, private one‑bedroom apartment options, and general cleanliness. The community's restaurant-style dining and chef-prepared menus, along with a bistro and varied menu choices, are frequently described as strong points that contribute to resident satisfaction. Housekeeping and infection-control practices (including COVID-19 adaptations) are also commonly cited as effective.

Care and staffing receive mixed but substantive commentary. Numerous families describe compassionate, respectful, and individualized caregiving—staff who know residents by name, provide personal attention, and maintain a safe atmosphere. The facility’s relatively high caregiver-to-resident ratio and availability of CNAs are noted as positive contributors to day-to-day care. At the same time, there is a discernible pattern of concern about staffing stability: reviewers mention turnover and a perceived decline in consistency and responsiveness after administrative changes. These patterns translate into variability in how reliably care needs are met over time.

Dining and activities are important anchors for resident quality of life at Serenity. The community offers a robust activities calendar with music, art, and social programming that many residents find engaging and helpful for forming friendships. However, programming appears concentrated during weekdays; several comments indicate limited evening and weekend options. A related facility-level limitation is the constrained availability of large open common spaces, which can restrict informal socialization. While the food and dining concept are praised, there are also operational concerns about dining-room service execution and occasional disruptions in meal delivery or dining-room coordination.

Operational and management issues are another notable theme. Some families praise admissions and front-line staff for being accommodating and communicative, but others describe reduced empathy or transparency after leadership or administrative changes. Specific operational weaknesses include gaps in after-hours access/control procedures and inconsistent pet supervision in common areas, both of which raise practical safety and convenience questions. Communication inconsistency—both in day-to-day responsiveness and in administrative transparency—was raised as a reason for concern by some families.

Overall, Serenity’s principal strengths are its environment, dining, and many devoted direct-care staff, which together create a positive experience for many residents. Prospective residents and families should weigh those positives against recurring operational concerns: ask directly about current staff turnover rates and staffing models, after-hours access policies, pet-management rules, the reliability of dining-service procedures, and the schedule for evening and weekend programming during a tour. Doing so will help determine whether the community’s strengths align with a particular resident’s needs and expectations.

    About Serenity

Serenity is a senior living community that offers a wide range of care types like assisted living, independent living, memory care, nursing home care, and continuing care retirement community services, all under one roof, and the Royce Elliott Memory Care stands out as a unique feature for residents with dementia or Alzheimer's, which helps provide a secure and caring place for those who need it most. The building has several different floor plans, with apartments that include residence kitchens, and folks can pick a unit that works for them and rent month-to-month, which gives a bit of flexibility. The community likes to keep things social and active, so there's always a full schedule of activities, events, and outings, plus a theater for entertainment, and plenty of outdoor patios and balconies where residents can get fresh air or visit with friends.

Serenity's staff, chosen for their compassion and cheerfulness, are around 24 hours a day to help with bathing, dressing, medication management, housekeeping, and meals, and there's a nurse on-site at all times, day and night, so if someone's needs change, the team can adjust care levels and even arrange for therapy like physical, speech, or occupational therapy without any hassle. The home care aides offer non-medical help and companionship for folks who'd rather stay in their apartments, and there's a focus on keeping people as independent as they can be, but not letting them struggle alone, whether someone needs incontinence care, help with diabetes, or managing medicines. The dining options are always available, and cleanliness, safety, and comfort are high priorities.

The facility is locally owned and managed by Randall Residence, a Christian, family-owned business, and they do encourage family involvement and work closely with local healthcare providers to keep everyone as healthy as possible. Serenity makes sure care plans are personalized based on each person's needs and abilities, with memory care services that are carefully designed to prevent wandering and reduce confusion, and the staff put effort into cognitive activities to keep minds sharp. Activities change often and are meant to keep people physically and mentally engaged, and every resident is given chances to socialize, whether it's through organized events or simple neighborhood chats on the patios. The main goal at Serenity is to help every resident enjoy a good quality of life in a place that's warm, inviting, and thoughtfully put together for older adults.
