Maryvale serves seniors 62 and older, but it does allow a few under 62 if they're disabled as defined by the Social Security Act, and all apartments are accessible for disabled persons. Residents have access to both a conference room and library for reading and group meetings, plus comfortable lobbies to sit and talk, when you want to see a familiar face. The building uses controlled entry points, security cameras in the lighted parking lot, and emergency pull cords in every apartment, plus a caring staff's on site 24 hours a day if you need help.
Outside, you see a fenced dog park and a pet-friendly policy that lets you keep small dogs, and there's a picnic area, a garden, a gazebo for gathering or catching some shade, and wooded walking paths if you want some peaceful time outdoors. Van transportation and bus service run seven days per week for appointments or errands, so you don't need to worry about getting around if you don't drive anymore.
Maryvale provides rehabilitation services on site with Legacy Rehabilitation Services and has both management and maintenance teams working full time, so they're usually quick to help. There's a screened-in porch and attached patio, window views of the wooded surroundings, and indoor areas for residents' activities, meal service by Midland Meals Food Service, comfortable galleries, and social programs aimed at keeping everyone moving and connected. With at least one staff member available at all hours, residents have help with emergencies, basic needs like moving from bed to wheelchair, and diabetes monitoring, but details about long-term medical care aren't usually included. The setting feels quiet and safe, with enough space between buildings and trees to allow for short walks, relaxing, or some fresh air any time you want. The office keeps weekday hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, but they're able to meet by appointment if you need a different time. The apartments aren't fancy, but you get the basics and a few extras, and the focus stays on making everyday life manageable, peaceful, and as independent as possible for those who live there.
