I'm very satisfied with Manor of the Plains - professional, kind staff from admin to CNAs and nurses keep me informed and truly care. The renovated, hotel-like facility is very clean with great food and on-site therapy and salon, plus plenty of fun activities that make this a warm, engaged community; I would choose it again.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Manor of the Plains receives substantial praise for its staffing, atmosphere, and amenity set. Reviewers frequently highlight a compassionate, patient and present caregiving team — including CNAs, nurses and administrative staff — and describe a welcoming, community-oriented environment. The facility's recent renovations and hotel/spa-like ambiance, together with pleasant common areas, contribute to a positive first impression for visitors and families.

Care and staff: Many comments emphasize strengths in day-to-day caregiving: staff are described as kind, professional, and engaged with residents, and families report being kept informed in numerous instances. There is a repeated theme of a cohesive, passionate team and an overall sense that residents are looked after. At the same time, several reviewers raised clinical and health-related concerns that suggest variability in oversight; these remarks point to potential gaps in infection-control practices and clinical monitoring that prospective families should clarify with management.

Dining and activities: Dining is a clear strength in the reviews — meals and desserts are consistently praised — and on-site services such as physical therapy and a beauty salon add convenience and continuity for residents. The activities program is described as active and engaging, with residents participating in new and enjoyable offerings; reviewers commonly report that activities contribute to social engagement and resident satisfaction.

Facilities and management: The property’s renovations and ambiance are seen as positives, and many families note a pleasant, comfortable environment suitable for nursing-level care. However, there are important operational concerns that recur: pest-control issues and inconsistent sanitation/housekeeping standards in parts of the facility, and occasional lapses in responsiveness to family complaints. Management responsiveness appears mixed — some families describe clear, communicative interactions, while others characterize their experience as disappointing. Prospective residents and families would be advised to ask specific questions about recent pest-control measures, housekeeping schedules, staffing levels and clinical oversight, and the facility’s process for handling and communicating about health incidents to ensure expectations align with current practice.
