    Caring attentive staff, homey atmosphere

My mother lived here for eight years and I was consistently impressed-caring, professional staff and attentive management who really know the residents and make it feel like a big family. They handle assisted showers, meds, transportation, provide beds/furniture, internet and cable, and the meals are above average with variety and special-diet options. Activities are engaging (outings, rec room, books, puzzles, music nights with piano and drums, event nights) and small compassionate gestures like holiday cards stood out. The building is older but homey and well cared for; overall I have no complaints.

    Summary of reviews

Overall sentiment across the reviews is strongly positive, with reviewers emphasizing the facility's warm, home-like atmosphere and an engaged, caring staff. Multiple comments describe the community feeling as like "a big family," and families repeatedly praise staff involvement and knowledge of residents' individual needs. Professional nursing care is noted explicitly, and practical assistance — including help with showers, medication management, and transportation — is described as reliable and available.

Activities and engagement are a clear strength. Reviews mention a wide range of programming: outings, event nights, recreational room activities, games, books, puzzles, and musical offerings (including piano and drums). These offerings are cited as being engaging and varied, contributing to resident quality of life. Reviewers also highlight small but meaningful touches that support resident connection, such as holiday cards and ongoing compassionate gestures from management and staff.

Dining receives generally favorable comments. Several reviewers call the food "great" or "above-average," noting variety and the ability to accommodate special diets. One reviewer indicated they had not personally tried the meals but relayed that their father thought the food was "okay," so while direct experiences skew positive, there is at least one instance of secondhand or limited meal feedback.

Management and staff culture are recurring positives. Reviewers describe management as caring and professional, and there are multiple mentions of nurses and caregivers who are attentive and compassionate. Longevity of care is evidenced by at least one example of a resident who lived at the community for eight years with no complaints, which supports the impression of consistent, long-term satisfaction.

Facility condition is the primary area of concern. Several comments describe the building as older or dated. While this does not appear to affect the quality of care or the strength of programming and staff relationships, prospective residents and families should be aware that the physical plant may not be modern or recently renovated.

Other practical amenities are noted positively: internet and cable TV are available and beds and furniture are provided. No significant operational or care failures are reported in these summaries; negatives are limited to the facility's age and a small amount of indirect meal feedback. In summary, Country Club Estates is portrayed as a caring, activity-rich community with professional caregiving and a family-like culture, balanced against an older physical facility and limited firsthand meal reporting from at least one reviewer.

    About Country Club Estates

Country Club Estates sits in a calm place where elders get assisted living, memory care, and independent living all in the same community, which some might like, since you can try a few things and see what fits best, and because the staff offers round-the-clock support for things like taking medicine, bathing, or dealing with mobility changes, you can move in knowing you'll get help with bathroom visits, hygiene, and even special health needs like insulin injections and incontinence care, as well as daily living help for folks needing more hands-on support, and they say they're licensed for about 22 residents by the State of Kansas Department of Social Services, so it's not too big, which some people might find more personal or comfortable if crowds aren't your thing.

You can choose private or shared suites with furniture all set up, and there's always been some talk about the meals, as residents get between one and three a day with an eye on special diets; the kitchen staff can manage for conditions like diabetes or high blood pressure, so meals are adjusted if the doctor says so, and there's laundry and housekeeping services to keep up with chores. For staying busy or feeling social, you find on-site activity directors who set up daily activities, art programs, music sessions, and fitness classes, as well as music therapy, animal therapy, games in the recreation room, community evening events, and quiet reading in the small library if that's more your style, plus outings and field trips, and a wellness room, plus a sauna and hot tub for those interested. You can step outside for some air in managed outdoor areas, while also having transport arranged for medical visits, shopping, or even religious services if you're so inclined, all set up by the facility so you or your family don't have to drive around town.

Folks interested in golf or living near a country club notice it's tied to Halifax Plantation and has some country club access, which has gotten a few golf fans' interest, though plenty live there just enjoying the open feeling, the large modern great room where people gather, the beauty salon and barber for a little grooming, and the simple peace of mind knowing there's always support in the building, day or night, especially for the people dealing with memory loss, dementia, or Alzheimer's, as memory care has its own set of routines, therapies, and spaces designed for safety and comfort. There's even a mental wellness program meant to promote positive thinking, which can matter on the tough days. You see everything from help with mobility to home care help for daily tasks and companionship, making it a spot that tries to meet people where they are, whether they're still pretty independent, need extra health and mobility support, or just want a place to stay for a short break using respite care or even hospice support if it's needed.

No, Country Club Estates does not offer respite care. Respite care in assisted living communities provides temporary, short-term relief for primary caregivers by offering professional care for their loved ones. It allows individuals to stay in an assisted living community for a limited time, giving caregivers a break while ensuring residents receive necessary support and assistance with daily activities.
