    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Reviews portray Wellsprings of Westmoreland as a small, community-oriented facility where caregiving staff are often described as compassionate and family-like. Families consistently highlight personalized, dignity-focused care, strengths in memory and Alzheimer’s support, and a generally responsive nursing presence, including prompt emergency attention when events occur. Maintenance and facility upkeep receive positive mention; renovated rooms and a home-like atmosphere are frequently noted. Dining and therapy services are also cited favorably.

Care and staff: Many comments emphasize strong frontline staff performance: CNAs and nurses who learn residents’ names, adapt to individual needs, and provide attentive bedside and hospice-level care. The memory-ward team is characterized as compassionate, and the activities director is singled out for creative, resident-focused programming. Maintenance staff are repeatedly described as responsive, with quick handling of practical requests (for example, TV setup). At the same time, reviews reveal variability in clinical competence and shift-to-shift performance; this inconsistency is reflected in a mix of high praise and sharply negative accounts about nursing or administrative capability.

Dining, activities, and facilities: Food quality is repeatedly described as good, and activity programming is highlighted as engaging and tailored. The facility’s recent renovations and décor contribute to a non-institutional, homelike environment. Practical conveniences — flexible scheduling, therapy services that follow physician orders, and the facility’s small-town character and independent ownership — are cited as benefits that reduce travel burden for families and support continuity of care.

Management and patterns: Several reviewers report visible changes under new administration, including investment in staff, restructuring, and a more positive workplace culture; other reviewers, however, describe serious concerns about administrative competence and ethical conduct. A minority of comments allege privacy and HIPAA-related issues; these are significant enough that prospective families should inquire directly about the facility’s current compliance practices and any corrective actions. A recurring operational weakness is intermittent staffing shortages that can lead to delayed call-bell responses during busy periods.

What to watch for when touring: Ask about current staffing ratios and how the facility handles peak-demand periods and overnight coverage; request examples of staff training and turnover rates; review memory-care programming specifics and hospice coordination; and inquire about privacy/HIPAA policies, recent compliance audits, and any corrective actions taken. Overall, Wellsprings projects many strengths in person-centered care, activities, maintenance, and dining, with notable improvements reported under new leadership—balanced by reports of variability in clinical competence and isolated but serious administrative/privacy concerns that merit direct verification during a visit.

    About Wellsprings of Westmoreland

Wellsprings of Westmoreland sits out in the Flint Hills, surrounded by cornfields, and really just takes its time with people, because it offers assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care, therapies, respite stays, and meal delivery, and people there get help with medication and personal care no matter if they're staying long-term or just for a little while, and the staff includes certified nursing assistants, licensed practical nurses, registered nurses, and nurse practitioners so there's someone trained for every need, day or night. Residents will find private apartments where they can set their own schedules, take part in activities like bingo, gardening, crafts, fishing trips, or shopping outings, and sit by big windows with plenty of natural light, or enjoy the pool table and outdoor spaces when the weather's nice, because the place was designed to feel both modern and homelike, and there's always a chance for residents to keep up with hobbies or build new friendships. The Dechairo Wing has ten private rooms arranged for memory care, with extra attention for those with dementia, so it's safe and home-like, and daily routines there get tailored to individual needs with a focus on comfort.

They're a not-for-profit and part of Westy Community Care Home, which means decisions always lead back to what helps the people living there, and families can keep in touch and feel welcome, with a priority on open relationships between caregivers, residents, and loved ones, so the place has a community feeling instead of being too big or too impersonal. Meals get planned and prepared by a certified Dietary Manager-people can eat together in the dining area or use the meal delivery program if they're homebound, so nutrition doesn't take a back seat. The facility also supports community members who aren't full-time residents, by offering adult day services for socialization and relief for caregivers, and by managing respite care when families need a short break.

There's help with all kinds of therapy-physical, occupational, and speech-and 360care brings in extra services like dental, vision, podiatry, and audiology right on-site, so residents don't have to go out for routine checkups. The care goes right up through hospice and end-of-life support, too, since some people want to stay where they're known and feel secure. Maintenance-free living means nobody has to worry about cooking or cleaning, and there's always staff around to help with big or small needs, which can be a comfort as people age.

Wellsprings of Westmoreland is a nonprofit organization with the EIN 48-0809130, with financial information and reporting available for anyone who wants to review it, and it works with grantmaking and local funding to keep things running for the community's seniors. Programs get built around individual preferences as much as possible, whether that's extra time with therapy, time outdoors, practicing a hobby, joining a religious service, or having a say in daily life, and the focus always remains on respect, compassion, and fostering real connections-there's not a big fuss or fancy promises, just steady care and a quiet, nurturing environment where older adults can have their needs met and enjoy their days the way they want.
