    Warm staff, clean facility, reassuring

I placed a loved one here and have been very pleased. The staff are warm, professional and on-site 24/7, the building and rooms are clean and modern, and the restaurant-style dining with impressive menus and snacks was a real perk. Sunlit units, a patio, porches and shuttle outings help maintain independence - overall a very positive, recommendable small facility that gave me peace of mind.

    Summary of reviews

Overview: Highland Ridge Assisted Living receives consistent praise for its physical environment, dining program, and staff demeanor. Reviewers emphasize a clean, modern facility with sunlit units and both private and shared room options. The dining room is frequently described as restaurant-like, with varied menus, meal selections, and readily available snacks. Amenities such as porches, a patio, outdoor walking areas, a shuttle for outings, and a pet-friendly policy contribute to a campus that supports resident independence and quality-of-life choices.

Care and staffing: Families and visitors repeatedly characterize staff as warm, welcoming, and professional. Multiple accounts describe attentive, around-the-clock staffing and interactions that provide residents and families with a sense of safety and peace of mind. These comments suggest strengths in day-to-day caregiving and front-line responsiveness, which appear to be a defining feature of the facility’s culture.

Dining and activities: The dining program is a clear strength. Reviewers note appealing menus, meal-selection options, and an inviting dining room environment that encourages communal meals. Activity-related offerings include organized outings via shuttle and on-site opportunities to use outdoor spaces. However, the facility’s relatively small size or low resident census is noted; this quieter atmosphere may suit some residents but can translate into fewer visible people and potentially less frequent group programming for those seeking a more active social calendar.

Facilities and grounds: The interior is generally described as well kept and modern, with comfortable units and common areas. Outdoor amenities (porches, patio, walking areas) are valued, but several comments point to variability in landscaping and grounds upkeep. This suggests that exterior maintenance may be uneven and could benefit from more consistent attention.

Management and notable patterns: Visitor experience during tours is often positive, with staff inviting families to sample meals and review menus. The combination of cleanliness, professional staff, and thoughtful dining contributes to a reassuring experience for many families. At the same time, a small set of concerns appears across reviews: a safety-related issue involving wet-floor handling raised questions about slip-and-fall prevention, and at least one family chose to relocate a resident after expressing discomfort with safety or adjustment. Additionally, transition support for new move-ins may be an area for improvement; some residents exhibited difficulty settling in, suggesting a need for more structured emotional-support or orientation practices during admission.

Bottom line: Highland Ridge presents as a clean, well-appointed assisted living option with strong dining and caring staff. Prospective residents and families who prioritize a smaller, quieter community, good food, and visible staff engagement are likely to find it appealing. Those for whom active daily social programming, consistently maintained grounds, or more robust transition supports are priorities should discuss these specific operational areas with management during a tour and ask about current practices for fall prevention, move-in orientation, and activity scheduling.

    About Highland Ridge Assisted Living

Highland Ridge Assisted Living sits at 180 Scottie Dr. in Glasgow, Kentucky, and it's a small place that cares for up to six residents, which means things don't get too crowded and people can really get to know each other, and what stands out is the way the caring staff always stay around and help make things easy for the folks living there, with 24-hour help available, so seniors have someone to turn to any time of day or night if they need something, whether that's help with bathing, getting dressed, handling medication, or just a little support with moving around. Residents get to pick from private apartments with their own bathroom or either individual or shared rooms, and furnished areas come with air conditioning, kitchenettes, cable TV, and Wi-Fi, so people can keep comfortable and stay in touch with family or friends. The meal services take food needs seriously, with chefs and meal planners who pay attention to taste and health, and they're able to handle special diets for things like diabetes or high blood pressure, so everyone gets something good to eat that's right for them. People share meals in a dining room with restaurant-style service, and there are always choices for those who need allergy-friendly options.

There are lots of things to do, and the team at Highland Ridge keeps residents busy with movie nights, music programs, pet therapy, tabletop games, arts and crafts, social nights, and even fitness schedules, so that both mind and body get attention, and when folks feel like going outside, they can walk along paths or relax in garden spots. The community tries to make things feel like home by offering game rooms, a library, a book room, outdoor spaces, and areas where people can gather for a coffee or a chat, and then add in a spa, sauna, and a wellness room, and the barber or stylist gives everyone a chance to stay feeling put-together. There's housekeeping, laundry, and even move-in help, which takes a bit of the worry off families, and transportation is available for shopping, doctor's visits, church services, or local community activities.

Healthcare needs get careful attention, with medication management, support for daily living tasks-like bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and transfers-plus supervision for people with diabetes, those who need help with incontinence, or anyone who can't get around easily. Safety matters too, so there are emergency systems in place and staff always close by, and there's a 24-hour call system, along with nursing staff available 12-16 hours a day. Highland Ridge strives to keep everyone comfortable, healthy, and connected, and there are always wellness programs and chances for social time. Reviews say the staff are helpful, joyful, and kind, which adds to the warm feel and sense of belonging. Everyone benefits from a supportive environment where people come together, and individualized help makes it possible for seniors to stay independent as long as possible while feeling safe and cared for.
