    Compassionate, clean, secure senior living

I placed my dad here and I'm very pleased - the staff (Crystal and the nursing team) were compassionate, professional and made the move seamless. The community feels clean, homey and secure with spacious apartment options, good meals, plenty of activities and responsive, attentive care; I'd recommend it to families seeking warm, capable senior living.

    Summary of reviews

Terrebonne Place presents as a well-kept, community-focused assisted living option with a number of operational strengths. Many families emphasize a clean, attractive building with accessible apartments, secure entry, pleasant outdoor courtyards and on-site amenities such as a beauty salon. Admissions and relocation assistance — including out-of-state coordination — received positive mention, and the site offers multiple unit types (studio and one-bedroom) that include sensible apartment layouts and some full kitchens.

Staff and day-to-day care are the facility’s most consistently praised elements. Local employees and leadership are frequently described as warm, compassionate and engaged; families note welcoming admission support, responsive maintenance, weekly housekeeping, daily trash removal, and staff who learn residents’ names. There are repeated commendations for dementia-care support, 24/7 availability, an emergency call system, and staff who facilitate social connections and resident happiness. Several reviewers named specific staff for exemplary coordination and compassion during transitions.

Dining and activities form an active part of community life. The facility runs a regular activity calendar (bingo, live music, chapel services, seasonal events, outings and transportation to appointments) and many residents participate daily. Dining is often described positively — restaurant-style dining spaces and family-meal pricing were appreciated — though comments indicate uneven food quality and a lack of specific diabetic menu accommodations in some cases.

Operational and management patterns require attention. Reviewers distinguish between highly regarded local leadership and weaknesses at the corporate level: families referenced billing errors, automatic-payment failures, NSF charges and difficulties obtaining corrective action from corporate customer service. There are also allegations of privacy and account-management concerns that some families found serious enough to consider external escalation. Staffing consistency and turnover were recurrent themes; while many staff members are praised, reviewers also describe gaps in coverage, variability in training and occasional delays in clinical responsiveness. A few reviewers expressed that certain common areas or smaller rooms could benefit from selective updates.

Overall impression: Terrebonne Place appears to provide a caring, activity-rich environment with strong local staff engagement and many amenities that support resident quality of life. Prospective families should weigh those strengths against operational considerations — notably corporate-level billing/customer-service processes, inconsistent clinical staffing coverage, and variable dietary accommodations — and confirm, during a tour and contract review, how the community addresses those specific concerns (staffing patterns, nurse/clinical oversight, dietary options for conditions such as diabetes, and written billing/payment procedures).
