    Warm caring staff, excellent amenities

I moved my mom here and I'm very pleased. The staff are warm, professional, and genuinely caring - leadership is strong and the director goes above and beyond. The building is immaculate and well-maintained, rooms and common areas are comfortable, and the food is phenomenal (Anytime Cafe and late-night snacks are a hit). There's a full calendar of activities, excellent memory-care programs, good communication with family, and a true sense of community - I highly recommend it.

    Summary of reviews

Overall impression: Peregrine Senior Living at Salisbury is described across reviews as a well-kept, hospitality-oriented assisted living and memory care community with a strong emphasis on food, activities, and a home-like social environment. Many families and residents praise the facility's cleanliness, attractive common areas and courtyard, and the presence of onsite amenities such as a hair salon, gym, and Anytime Café. The memory care unit is noted as a distinct, secure wing with design features (a circular walking track) intended for residents with dementia.

Care quality and staff: The dominant theme in the reviews is positive staff interaction. Caregivers, CNAs, nurses, and leadership are frequently characterized as compassionate, attentive, and personally engaged with residents; reviewers repeatedly mention staff knowing residents by name and making them feel valued. Several reviewers also singled out specific leaders and nursing staff for effective oversight. That said, there are recurring operational concerns: inconsistent staffing levels at times, gaps in clinical follow-through (including medication-management questions), and instances where families felt communication about incidents or clinical changes was delayed or insufficient. These operational patterns suggest variability in reliability of clinical communication and continuity of care that prospective families should clarify during visits.

Dining and activities: Dining is consistently cited as a strength. A dedicated chef, multiple meal choices, buffet-style and plated options, and snack/beverage stations receive frequent praise; some reviewers called the food a highlight of the day. The activities program is broad and active — daily exercise, games, crafts, bingo, jewelry-making, outings and entertainment are highlighted — contributing to a socially engaged atmosphere. A minority of reviewers expressed dissatisfaction with occasional variability in food seasoning or service; overall the culinary program is a selling point.

Facilities and amenities: The building and grounds are described as modern, immaculately maintained, and odor-free, with many reviewers noting updated décor, clean dining areas, and well-kept rooms and bathrooms. Private rooms with en-suite bathrooms and accessible/handicapped options are available, though room size is mixed; some units are described as compact. The community supports family involvement (visiting flexibility, families dining with residents) and offers hospice coordination when needed.

Management, policies, and patterns to watch: Leadership and a stable core team earn positive mention, and management-organized events and admissions support are commonly cited. At the same time, reviewers note administrative rigidity around financial policies and move-in fees, and describe a degree of "red tape" that can make routine requests harder to accomplish. Cost is a consistent concern: pricing is often described as high relative to alternatives, with limited acceptance of Medicaid. A small number of families raised significant clinical concerns following acute incidents (including hospital transfer and end-of-life outcomes); those accounts focused on communication, staffing and transition processes rather than alleging deliberate mistreatment. Prospective residents and families should ask specific questions about staffing ratios, medication-management protocols, emergency/transfer procedures, and billing/contract terms.

Bottom line: Peregrine at Salisbury appears to offer strong hospitality, engaging programming, and a well-maintained memory care option with many families reporting meaningful improvement in residents' quality of life. The main trade-offs are cost and some variability in operational consistency — particularly around staffing, communication, and care transitions. A recommended approach for prospective families is an in-person tour that includes meeting nursing leadership, reviewing current staffing levels and medication procedures, examining unit layouts for room size and navigation, and clarifying contractual/financial policies before committing.
