    Pleased, caring staff, clean facility

I placed my mother here and I'm very pleased. The owner and staff are accommodating, friendly and responsive — the facility is clean, the food is good, care is better than elsewhere, and pricing is reasonable. It's a small place with limited activities (only one TV) and fairly strict rules, but I feel reassured, have no complaints, and would recommend it.

    Summary review

Overall sentiment in the reviews for Kalbs Adult Foster Care Home II is predominantly positive, with multiple reviewers emphasizing responsive, caring staff and an owner who is accommodating and flexible. Several accounts describe the care as better than alternatives, with family members feeling comfortable and reassured that their loved ones are well cared for. The facility is repeatedly called clean and described as a smaller, home-like environment, which many reviewers associate with more personalized attention.

Care quality and staff: The reviews consistently highlight the competency and friendliness of the staff. Reviewers note that staff are approachable and responsive to questions, and that communication is clear—an "informative presentation" was specifically mentioned. Multiple summaries say the residents (or a family member such as a mother) are well taken care of, and that the overall experience has been positive with no complaints. The owner is singled out as accommodating and flexible, which reinforces the impression of a management team willing to tailor care and policies to individual needs.

Facilities and atmosphere: Kalbs is described as a smaller facility, which creates a home-like atmosphere and contributes to the sense of personalized care. The property is described as clean, and the overall environment is considered reassuring by family members. However, the small size is a double-edged point in the reviews: while it contributes to individualized attention, reviewers also imply it may limit options and social variety for residents.

Dining and pricing: Food quality is mentioned positively — reviewers note "good food." Pricing is described as reasonable, which, combined with the reported quality of care and cleanliness, yields a perception of good value among those who recommended the home.

Activities and entertainment: The most consistent negatives relate to limited recreational programming and entertainment. Multiple reviewers said there is "not a lot to do," activities are "limited," and the facility has only one TV. These points suggest that while basic needs and personal care are well met, the breadth of organized activities, social programming, or on-site entertainment is restricted, which may matter for residents who need more stimulation or variety.

Rules and restrictions: A few reviewers mentioned "strict rules," indicating that facility policies may be more regimented than some families prefer. The reviews do not provide specifics about which rules are considered strict, but the comment is salient enough to caution prospective families that there may be a more structured environment.

Overall patterns and recommendation: In summary, reviews portray Kalbs Adult Foster Care Home II as a clean, small, and reasonably priced setting with strong, attentive staff and an accommodating owner. The primary trade-offs are its limited activity offerings, minimal entertainment options (only one TV noted), and the presence of strict rules. For families prioritizing personalized care, responsive communication, and a homelike atmosphere at a reasonable cost, reviewers generally recommend this facility. For families seeking a larger community with a wide variety of activities and entertainment, the limited social/activities environment may be a drawback.
